Laurence, John, and Shelby (the inn keepers) provide a fabulous experience in an awesome location. The breakfasts were delicious. They provide great tips for planning your visit, restaurants, and shopping. Newport is like visiting Europe without having to leave the USA. Stay AT LEAST 3-4 days to get the best experience.

First, the only minus; due to a tub mishap around three years ago (I believe), there was a major water leak from our room. Repairs were made that look great, but, left a major tilt to the bathroom floor in our room.
I’m not talking a quaint or quirky minor tilt like an older home may have, but a noticeable tilt that say, a secret service director might comment upon as unsafe for agent placement.
Everything else about our stay was great. I thought the bed was a tad too soft ( I could fall asleep on asphalt), but my girlfriend loved it. She also thought the pillows were the best from any stay, anywhere at any time.
The service was close to perfect. The innkeeper, John, was a kind fellow who allowed us an early check-in. The room was clean.
Exceptional kudos to assistant innkeeper, Shelby. She hosted the five o’clock wine and cheese get together, baked killer chocolate chip cookies, cooked and managed the delicious breakfast the next morning, was personable, down to earth, intelligent and tireless.
Dozens of restaurants and bars are a short walk from the Almondy Inn. Remarkably, it was very quiet on a Friday night. I did hear a slightly inebriated singalong from the piano bar down the street; also, a few drunken bachelorette partygoers walked by on the way back to their retreats. More amusing than annoying.
The Almondy consists of five rooms; it was full but I never heard any noise from any room at any time.
Would we go again? Definitely.

We stayed for 3 days for the July 4th weekend. Great location, the room is cozy and clean.
Nice family type breakfast.
Complimentary wine and cheese served everyday at 5pm with the rest of the guests was
the highlight of our trip!
All the staff is nice and helpful. Definitely will be back and highly recommended!

Tellement un bel endroit et très bien situé. Les gens sont accueillant et super gentils. L’endroit est très propre et chic. Le petit déjeuné est un délice, il y a des biscuits à notre arrivé et un vin et fromage à tous les jours. Très charmant comme endroit. Le stationnement est inclus et nous avons pu faire plusieurs place a pied. Je suggère fortement et je reviendrai.

Really top class room. We had The Plantation Room. Tastefully decorated and the hosts had thought of everything down to the makeup face cloth, toiletries and dressing gowns. Coffee making facilities in the room which was very welcome for a couple of English guests as not all American places have this facility. Immaculate clean room with great view of the harbour. The hosts were friendly and hospitable and we were invited for wine and cheese with them in the tastefully decorated period sitting room. John and Laurence were helpful guides in where to visit and what to eat, and were able to link us to a phone map which proved very useful. Breakfast was delicious with eggs Benedict on the menu. Could not have wished for a more comfortable stay after a hectic week in NY. Top quality luxury stay in beautiful Newport.

Had a wonderful stay here! Location is great and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is amazing and wine and cheese in the evenings is a wonderful add on. Will stay again next time we visit!

Our stay at The Almondy Inn was amazing! The Inn was beautiful and the rooms were immaculate. There were fresh baked cookies everyday, wine and cheese happy hour with the other guests every evening and a delicious homemade breakfast every morning! John and Laurence were wonderful hosts, they were extremely welcoming and friendly and were more than willing to help give directions or advice on what to see in Newport, RI. Would 100% recommend staying at The Almondy Inn and we will definitely be returning again!

We are already trying to figure out how to get back here as soon as possible! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Laurence and John. My husband and I came here for a quick weekend getaway, first time leaving the kids in a few years since COVID, and the Almondy Inn was beyond our expectations. The location is amazing, we were able to walk everywhere and the rooms were spotless. Laurence and John went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. I also have Celiac’s disease (gluten free) and Laurence went out of her way to make sure I had an amazing and safe breakfast every day and cheese and crackers at night during wine hour (a can’t miss!). There are so many little details but I’ll let you experience the magic yourself. Thank you for a great weekend!!

The Host and Hostess were wonderful. Lovely wine and cheese the evening of our arrival and the breakfast was wonderful (especially the Croissant). The room was beautiful and very comfortable and already looking forward to our next trip!

We highly recommend the Almondy Inn. We have been staying in the Captains Quarters for several years right before the holiday season. Laurence and John are the perfect Innkeepers attending to every detail and making every guest feel welcome. The homemade breakfasts are outstanding and the accommodations are superb. We will be back next year!
