Hours: Mozz is a hip, sophisticated spot in Newport and a welcome addition. It is a big, open space with a nice vibe, some outside tables, and sometimes eclectic jazz and global beats playing. The business is a cheese lover's paradise with a huge selection of cheese and Italian food imports, plus interesting items for sale. The food is absolutely outstanding, fantastic, and superb, with a focus on quality ingredients. Standouts include real espresso, cappuccinos made the way they’re supposed to be, frittatas not to be missed, phenomenal pork sandwiches, porchetta to die for, and the best mozzarella. The pastas, like the carbonara, show skill and care, and the pastries and weekly changing lunch offerings never disappoint. Some of the best food in Rhode Island comes from here. The service is excellent, very friendly, incredibly kind, and accommodating, though the counter service can sometimes be slow. The experience is worth the wait. They also offer special activities like private cheese making classes, which are intricate and so worth it. It is a bit pricey but excellent all around.
