Did not stay here because they were full, but Ahmed the Front Desk Supervisor was very reassuring when helping me with my CNA questions and he added a note to my profile to make sure there wasn't any confusion about the "Pay Grade" of an Officer Candidate. I told somebody E-5 since that's what we are paid so my CNA says Petty Officer 2nd Class which I am not. Ahmed was very helpful in alleviating my concerns. OCS Class 01-25 LET'S GO

This is a very nice and newly built lodge. They have smart rooms which help to conserve energy. All new building, all new things! There is a patio, huge grill to use, mini mart, and local places to visit. Would stay again! No complaints.

A peaceful and quiet Navy Lodge on the far side of the Newport Naval Station. Tends to attract military families in transit so be wary of screaming kids in hallways. Free breakfast 6-9am weekdays, 7-9:30am weekends. Waffles available on Sunday. We chose to stay there during October so we could enjoy Newport in the fall around halloween at a good price. Definitely worth it.Note: Navy Lodge is only available to active, reserve and retired DoD persons and their families.

Another great stay at the Navy Lodge! Can’t get a better deal in Newport, especially during the summer. Attentive staff, clean rooms, included breakfast was great w/hot waffles. Greg, at the front desk, was super helpful and friendly. Views are beautiful! Friday dinner at the officer’s club deck, BBQ & live band were great! Don’t forget to check out the on base bowling alley, Seaview Lanes, for a fun night with the family.

Had the best stay here. Ahmed E. at the front desk was so welcoming and willing to please this old retired couple with whatever we needed. I had tried 2 weeks to get in on our reservation days. It went all the way to the 11th hour. We arrive and I see they upgraded our room to what we originally requested. I considered it a gift for my birthday! Truly your people are the best!

This was our first visit to a Navy Lodge, and we were not disappointed. The front desk folks were welcoming, helpful, and professional. Our room was large, very clean, and very comfortable. We really cannot find any fault with this property. Bed was very comfortable. Would like to see more rooms for handicapped, but understand that more active duty than old folks use this hotel.

My wife and I decided to travel from southwest Vermont to Newport for a couple days during Christmas week to enjoy the decorations and the festivities the area had to offer. We arrived around suppertime Tuesday evening and received a warm greeting from the front desk staff. The decorations in the lobby actually looked as though we were in someone's living room. Check-in went very smoothly. Our room was very clean and spacious. It contained all the amenities promised on the website. The breakfast bar contained the usual cereal, yogurt, pastries, etc., as many hotels do, but the selection was varied enough that just about anyone could find something to eat and drink. The kitchenette was a nice touch and had everything you'd need to prepare a simple meal. The bed was comfortable. Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay and look forward to staying at Navy Lodge Newport again. We dealt with Ahmed at both check-in and check-out. He was professional and gracious. It was reassuring knowing he was at the front desk in case we needed anything. Thank you, staff of Navy Lodge Newport, for making our stay, especially during the Christmas holiday, so comfortable and relaxing.

I made my reservation to stay here over a week ago. Today I received an email with a cancellation confirmation number, and I was extremely confused as I had not received any phone calls from them, nor did the email explain the reason for cancellation. I called them and the reason I was given was that the room they had me in had a leak, so I couldn’t stay there and there were no other empty rooms. I made my reservation A WEEK AGO. I highly doubt I was the most recent person to make a reservation, and feel it was extremely unfair and horrible customer service to cancel me rather than whoever made the most recent reservation. I then asked if I could be placed in a call back list in case someone cancels and was informed that they don’t do that. All in all it was an extremely annoying experience and I felt like it was handled poorly and unfairly. My family is flying in from Washington state TOMORROW. I understand that a leak is out of their control but I think the person who made a reservation 10 days in advance (which is their policy they won’t make reservations any sooner than that) should have kept their reservation.

Stayed here many night over the years. Manager/Front Desk clerk too busy doing nothing to take local same day reservations. Centralized Reservation System doesn't work online, only way to make a reservation is call. The manager at Newport refused to take any responsibility. Very sad Customer Service. The reservation system is not conducive to supporting the needs of the military members No direct phone line to the lodge. The box lunch style morning breakfast was interesting. No hot meal eggs, bacon, toast, cereal, pancakes, etc. Outside individuals bringing laundry in not staying at lodge.
Safety: Only, reason stayed here is it's location, safe secured on base and convenient.
Noteworthy details: While, the lodge was clean, safe, and secure, the rate of $98.00 includes, Walmart type accessories....soap shampoo, etc
