We have just attended the wedding of some very close family of ours and had a wonderful experience with the Ocean Cliff Hotel. From the moment we arrived as members of the wedding party we were made to feel as family. Our 'Captain' James was a wildly attentive and helpful young man who seemed to be everywhere at once. From the warm and receptive Front Desk Managers that greeted the family (and fixed any problems that popped up!) like Susan and Heidi to the wildly talented and responsive servers like John (who never failed to greet a guest or open the doors to welcome them!) Reidyn, Oswaldo, and Zander that jumped on every request or difficulty that came their way.Karl and Dan were our bartenders for the evening and there was not a drink mentioned that they could not create. They were exceptionally personable and made everyone feel like they were finally coming home after a long spell away.Taylor and Briana assisted with planning and had a solution or fix for every last minute change or addition that came by.Michael was our Night Auditor who quickly became our late-night guardian angel by providing and assisting our messy but well intentioned group with anything we needed. He was a fabulously knowledgeable individual that we were thrilled to have spent the late nights with. This beautiful facility and their unerring staff have made every single guest feel like they belong at every turn. My wife and I were truly blessed to spend a weekend here among so many people that made us feel so special and cared for during our short stay. I cannot recommend this location enough for weddings, celebrations or other events moving forward. We thoroughly look forward to our next return to the Ocean Cliff Hotel and it is solely thanks to the exceptional and selfless staff on hand to welcome all of us as family finally coming home.

I have had the pleasure of photographing a handful of weddings at Oceancliff over the last 5 years. The staff is always amazing and my couples have always spoken so highly of their experience with the sales team and services staff. The property is beautiful and the perfect spot to capture the infamous "Newport Sunsets." If you are looking to have your wedding here you won't be dissapointed.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding at OceanCliff in August 2023 and we could not have chosen a more beautiful, well run, efficient and understanding venue for our big day! From start to finish, Susanne Day and her team, including Briana the banquet manager, delivered our vision and made it better than we could have imagined. This team is so prepared and has seen EVERYTHING that they will ensure your day goes according to plan. The ballroom, the food, their recommended vendors and their attention to detail are bar none! I would recommend getting married at OceanCliff to anyone that wants their vision taken seriously and carried out flawlessly!

My Fiancé and I were recommended to stay here for our then proposal back in this past November and the experience blew away our expectations! Special thanks to Stephen and the team who were kind and considerate to meet all our accommodations, truly above and beyond to make it personable for us! Would highly recommend for anytime and any reason at all!

The entire crew at Ocean Cliff did a fantastic job at my sister’s wedding. The management runs a very tight ship, and the entire staff was on top of everything from start to finish. Special shout-out to our server Rei who did a fantastic job attending to our table during the reception, constantly keeping the table clean, bringing in refills, grabbing plates we were done with, etc. She was also very friendly and personable on top of it.As for location you really can’t ask for much more. Plenty of space and great views. My only non-positives about the venue are that the bathrooms are very small and the layout of some of the hotel rooms is a bit odd, but none of that is a huge deal. Would highly recommend OceanCliff for a wedding or special event.

Gorgeous property. Loved exploring the history. It's a nice ride away from the hustle and bustle on thames. Quiet and completely serene with its idyllic charm.Rooms: Minimalist in a friendly and chic way. 24 hour front desk room service is hospitable and warming. The beds were big and comfyn dangerous for anyone who has a lot to do come sunrise.Food & drinks: Continental breakfast included! Amazing spread with a comforting vibe of all the morningtime goodies you'd know growing up. Like all our nannies got together to surprise us in the morning. Wake up to the sweet smell of a successful meal.Noteworthy details: The architecture and property are generally in great condition echoing the history of this lovely place. If walls could talk im sure they'd say 'welcome' and 'thank you!' I noticed also, that the sash hung windows were older than myself and restored well enough to use which let in the freshest early fall new England air. Endless enchantment.

We had our wedding at OceanCliff and are so happy we did. We had an excellent experience here from the very start. Particularly, Susanne Day, Jim Maher, and Taylor Russo made our experience very special. They were so helpful and knowledgeable. I had so much fun planning with them and everything was absolutely seamless and beautiful on the day of the wedding. I enjoyed my wedding so much knowing that the OceanCliff staff was taking care of everything. Thank you so much!

I attended a wedding at this hotel. It is, I think, worth noting that no one from the wedding chose to stay at this hotel. I can't speak to its lodging other than to say it was passed on unanimously by people from 4+ states.OceanCliff is beautiful, full stop.Finding the wedding was a challenge. There was no sign to help us find our way. A kid's bday party at the park has signs and balloons telling guests, "this way!" But there was no effort by the OceanCliff to direct guests to the wedding. We finally found a sign- behind a building, beside a person standing ten feet from my family members. I think they could stand near the parking lot to be a little bit more available. The food was not good. Most plates went back half full. I got the short rib and it was so dry. It seemed to be a chunk of overdone pot roast. The vegetables were a rushed afterthought. The dining room was fabulous. The dance floor was a good size and I liked the space we were in, overall. Our server, Zander, was exceptional but looked beat down. I hope y'all are treating your employees right!

We stayed at this hotel over Labor Day Weekend (a Saturday night) and we were extremely disappointed with our stay. The main issue we had with this place is that it was very loud, as there was a wedding going on downstairs directly below us. We were not made aware of this when we booked or when we checked in. When we called the front desk to ask about this, they were very rude and not helpful. The music and screaming did not die down till closer to midnight. The front desk said, "We are a wedding venue" and they never apologized for it. If they are a wedding venue, that's fine, but you need to make your guests aware of that before booking. The beds were also very hard and not comfortable. A very outdated and old hotel overall. Also, the cleaning staff started vacuuming the hallways at 7 AM the next morning. Definitely not worth what we paid (over $550 per night!). DO NOT stay here if visiting Newport, RI.

We had been so excited for our stay, but were so disappointed by almost every aspect. I believe this is foremost a venue, not focused on the overnight/inn portion of its business. It is indeed a beautiful vista, but our room was so small, we had a view of the roof with a window air conditioning unit.. the bed was so uncomfortable and squeaked all night… the coffee maker didn’t work in the room, we had to call for more than 2 hand towels, the water came out brown from the spigot, the “free breakfast” was hard bagels and yogurt.. and the woman at the front desk had an untucked shirt and overall unfriendly. For the price and hype— we expected more.

Large rooms. The bathroom needs renovation to be in line with other hotel amenities. Service is excellent. Continental brkfast is good.
