I felt like I was in an old sailors rooming house, in a good way. It's old and creaky floored. They should lose the silly little tv and let the room look like the early 1800s. They gave us a duraflame log for the fireplace and it made the room feel cozy and romantic. Great location for Thames St and Broadway.

Creepy at best. The house smelled and the bed was broken. One of the windows was taped shut and the other was covered by plastic. Staff was kind. Bathroom was ok but small. Breakfast was good.

Great location. Good service and free parking spot is a major plus. But bad water pressure and Musty room smell.

The service here was impeccable! From my first phone call until the time we checked out, I was impressed. Each and every staff member was helpful, nice, accommodating, and happy. The parking was excellent, our room was beautiful, the breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning.Thank you to everyone who made our stay perfect!Rooms: Beautiful, romantic, big shower, fireplace, big room.

The location was perfect! Only a 5 minute walk to Thames St and the street was quiet. The parking lot was kind of small. However, the room was very comforting, clean, and quiet (room was on the second floor). Bathroom was clean and everything was in working order. For the price, this place is a steal! What can I say about Rick. Very friendly and understandable. Traveling from Toronto, Ontario and was suppose arrive at the Inn by 3:30PM. However, had some hiccups during the travel and we did not arrive until 7PM. Made a call beforehand and Rick said "come any time and drive safe". What a service! If I were travel back to Newport, I will definitely staying at The Cleveland Inn AGAIN!

Since it is summer season, all the hotels are probably full and this is reflected in the prices. even the worst places ask for $500-600. We chose this place because of its good location and we could only stay one night. We paid with breakfast included but only had cornflakes. You could have coffee and toast if you wanted. the room was old but clean. The air conditioner was very noisy. For this much money, you normally stay in a five-star hotel.

This was such a nice place to stay!! It was definitely quite expensive but that wasn’t a surprise for summer in Newport. The staff was very friendly and helpful, willing to give me tips on things to see and directions to get places. It is in a prime location, so easy to walk around. I recommend it highly!

Best sleep I have had in years. So accommodating. Rick is a delight. Answered any questions I had. I recommend to upgrade to a cooked breakfast. It was delicious. Everybody there is so friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Each one has a theme. Highly recommend.

We paid 16 dollars each person for breakfast which was pre-ordered. We had to be there by 9:30 am . They set the time for you. We had to wait about twenty min from them to bring us what we ordered and we didn't get what we ordered. And it was so little that we had to go out and get something else to eat also. The rooms have no refrigerator. The windows were semi broken and the sink was cracked. For $300 a night, I'm sorry but it isn't worth it.The people in the house were nice and it was less than five minutes walking distance from everything. That was the only good thing.

I never received an email confirmation and that should have been the first clue that this whole operation was unorganized, haphazard and not very customer service friendly ultimately. I left my stay a very unsatisfied customer. The rooms were old and run down and definitely disappointing based on the pictures on the website. We had a suite that included a kitchen but the fridge and many of the kitchen components didn't work and there were not plates or cups or cutterly. The table had literally 1 chair with it- how very odd.Several lights and electrical outlets didn't work, the carpet and tile is dirty and stained.Breakfast was lackluster and parking was hard to come by. I am not usually this critical, but please heed this warning.Rick, the innkeeper, was very nice but things seemed to change several times and were not always as they seemed.I made a reservation to sleep 7 and it turned out to only be able to sleep 6 and his solution was to charge me more and still have adults sleeping on the floor and sharing rooms with a glass door to the bathroom- it was absurd and totally unacceptable. He made offers he couldn't keep and after so many of our exchanges, I no longer trust a word he said. BewareAnd this is all for like 500-600 dollars per night at a place that is not even worth half that. It's not charming and quaint, it's old, dirty, broken, and a bit of a sham. It is downtown and walkable but besides that, it is a total waste of money.I wanted so much to like it, but am leaving very disappointed and unhappy and would NOT recommend this to others traveling with groups, with kids, or with older parents or family.

Fantastic place to stay. Rooms are beautiful, building is historic, parking is good and the owners are friendly, helpful and available. Get the full breakfast - the food is delicious and cooked to order. It was a wonderful experience.

My wife and I awaited this long weekend away to Newport…King sized bed in a room it barely fits in. Musty smell, filthy carpets, a significantly stained cloth-chair in room one would never want to sit on! Appeared to be a full breakfast online…when we checked in, the Inn Keeper told us we only paid for the continental one. We were up charged $22 for the full breakfast, with fair omelette’s (hard to screw these up) and no coffee left! When the Inn Keeper heard this he had me follow him across the street to another house to get my coffee and bring it back!….see where this is going? Horrible service. Poorly maintained properties. Don’t be fooled into going here from marketing antics! Worse stay ever.

The location was the only good thing about our stay. Upon our arrival my husband and I were asked if we preferred a cold or warm room for sleeping. We opted to not freeze. The room was small and simple, which is fine. It was the most uncomfortable nights sleep, my husband and I would have been more comfortable on the floor. I literally could not move the following day. For the price for a single nights stay, we were highly disappointed.
