The Elms is a beautifully preserved Gilded Age mansion, offering a step back in time. The house is immaculately and lovingly preserved, filled with very interesting pieces. It is located within a lovely neighborhood of many large homes. Visiting during the holiday season is particularly special, as its Christmas decorations are lovely and give the house a warm feeling, with trees and holiday items interwoven throughout. The conservatory is very nice, with palm trees and other greenery growing inside. Audio tours make it easy to imagine the house's former residents, guests, and staff in motion. The staff are all welcoming and helpful. It is recommended to take some time to walk the side streets of the neighborhood.
