Stayed February 17 - 22, 2024 and this is definitely an amazing deal in Newport, especially if you've got little ones or like to be able to spread out / relax in your accommodations during a vacation.First, this is a terrific location at the end of Thames Street - a very reasonable walk up to America's Cup and beyond. The apartment we had (534) had gorgeous sunset and water views of the harbor and Pell Bridge from a spacious private balcony. The parking is free and plentiful, which is a great bonus in the tight spaces of Newport. The suites themselves are incredibly spacious. The apartment we had was two bedrooms - a King room with a full en suite bathroom and a large tub, then a smaller bedroom with two twins and a full bathroom with shower right in the hall. There were two large closets in the hall, a washer/dryer nook, and a kitchen with a Keurig, drip coffee maker, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and toaster oven plus full-size fridge and freezer. The coffee area came with four Keurig pods, and several packages of Maxwell house coffee grinds, filters, some sweetener packs and creamers. I had planned ahead and brought my own coffee making supplies so this was a little bonus. The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, cups, mugs, bowls, silverware, etc. No stovetop range but if you aren't really into cooking on vacation - this is perfect for morning coffee, quick breakfasts, making sandwiches, having cold drinks, fruit, popcorn for movies, anything microwavable, etc. Very convenient if you're not into getting up and going first thing! The space also had a large dining table with seating for six and we used this each morning and two night for setting up carryout food. There was also a big living room with fireplace, couch, two armchairs, lamps, and coffee table. The fire was just a wonderful touch and they will give you matches and duraflame logs down at the clubhouse for $5 a log. The log will burn 3-4 hours so it's perfect for having on during game night or a late movie. There's a flat screen in each room with DVD player and cable. They have DVDs down at the clubhouse which was so fun for our son to pick out, he'd never seen this before lolol so even though we could have just streamed on our devices via the wifi, this was a cute activity. Also for family activities, there is an indoor and outdoor pool. My husband and son used the indoor pool 3 nights - they said it was great and there are locker rooms to dry off in. Be aware that in the cold weather, the indoor pool does not have hallway access and you will need to go outside after you swim to get back to the rooms. We were really so happy with this stay. The price was far more reasonable per night than the Marriott or Wyndham, and we got SO much more space for our dollar. Plus a beautiful view and cozy accommodations that made for a very memorable family getaway. The furnishings and fixtures may be 15 years old or more but the space was clean and everything worked well. We will absolutely be back! THANK YOU WELLINGTON!Noteworthy details: Staff at the front desk was so friendly. We met a different staff member each time we went down there and they just couldn't have been more helpful or kind. Thank you!

We stayed at the Wellington with our own two children and two additional friends. We loved the large space and two bathrooms. We had a beautiful view of the water, and would have enjoyed the two balconies if the weather had been warmer. Although some of the fixtures and decor were a bit outdated, the suite was very clean and comfortable.Walkability: The resort is a bit far from the center of town but was still walkable to restaurants and shopping.

Best value in Newport. Centrally located. Rooms slightly dated, but clean and convenient.

What attracted to me to this resort was the two pools. The indoor pool is perfect in case the weather doesn’t cooperate with you. Rooms were a great size. Is not too far off from the main attractions. 10 min walk the most, if you’re taking your time.

The Wellington Resort- When my wife found this property, she and I were very excited. The representation of the property showed it to have everything we desired. Website pictures showing waterfront property, in and outdoor pool with spacious living space in the room with a patio. Upon checking in my wife asked if our room was (the same room that was confirmed when she booked the reservation), the best room available which we were assured that it was.Upon first entry to our room, we noticed the AC unit was very loud but the room was cool. The rugs were a few years beyond the need of replacing, The bathroom was also not up to what we would have called clean as well (Mildew in shower and tub). We had to make a trip to the store for 3 cans of Lysol along with other cleaners to make the room be livable at a minimal level. After finally being able to unpack we enjoyed the waterfront views from the patio. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Upon returning to our room on the second day our smoke detector was alerting us to low battery, we called the front desk and they said they would be right up. After 45 minutes I called again and was told that he was the only one on and could not leave the front desk. I went and got the 2 batteries needed at the front desk and replaced them myself. The detector kept alerting low battery even with new batteries. I had no choice but to remove the detector from the power supply and left it on the night stand. After going to dinner, the second day we returned and my wife turned on the shower. The valve stem froze in the hot position running uncontrolled. After both of us attempting to turn the valve off we called the front desk where we found no one, seeing it was after hours. We called the answering service and finally got to speak to someone about the problem. After 50 minutes, they dispatched a gentleman who was able to shut the water flow off. All and all I would say avoid the Wellington if they don’t perform extensive improvements, especially at the prices they charge for a subpar at best property.Rooms: Large for families but in need of updating and more constant cleaning.Walkability: Plenty of shops and food near by

Not impressed by this place. Had a family health emergency forcing us to cancel our reservation 5 days before our arrival. Granted they say they keep your 600 dollar deposit but when the wife called the guy was so matter of fact. Shes crying because of what's happened at our home and the guy was cold and could care less. I can see if you cancel for no reason but no option to change to a later date or any thought of refunding the deposit ( she didn't even ask him ). keep the 600 and choke on it you heartless bastards

Perfect for a bachelorette. We had a beautiful water view. Big space for our festivities. The only feedback I'd say is having soap and sponge for washing dishes. Otherwise everything was great.

I have to say for a person's never been to New England, this place was great! Through the service, staff, everything was very accommodating. The only hiccup was in our room, such as a busted motor inside our washing machine, a kureig machine for coffee, which leaked and the narrowness of the corners because my wifes mother (who is disabled) couldnt really maneuver around the tight spaces. (Hint hint). Other than that, everything was great! The view, the scenery, the people all were so kind and helpful. Thank you.
