William Vareika Fine Arts is one of my favorite stops in Newport. It’s like a mini art museum of so many wonderful, significant artists of the past, including some extra sketches and memorabilia of William Trost Richards, and even some old maps and furniture. A must see for any art appreciator!

I can’t claim to be a connoisseur of fine art but I do enjoy wandering around a gallery and trying to learn something when the opportunity presents itself. William Vareika Fine Arts was the perfect place to do just that on a hot summer’s day. The collection encompasses a range of different artists spanning a diverse array of periods and styles and the staff are happy to answer questions (even uninformed ones, as I can certainly attest!). The array of American art represented here is fascinating; this place truly is a gem and well worth a stop.

Everyone at this gallery was immensely helpful and kind!! I came in and was surprised to find the largest collection of one of my favorite artists, William Trost Richards! The staff were so well informed and helpful and polite. I highly recommend this gallery!
