Very impressed with Han's Imports. Did a nice job with maintenance on my BMW and my wife's Benz. I also appreciate the thorough check of the rest of the car as part of their 1st look at the cars. I'll be back.

This place should be out of business!!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. Omar is a sleazy crook who needs to realize what year it is. Our daily driver BMW was dropped off in “early drop off special” hours (every mechanic and dealership offers this service) on 12/27. Did not receive an estimate until 1/8!!!!!! With very few communication from Omar in between. What an inconvenience!!!! Not to mention, the estimated repair costs totaled more than 10k, when it was made clear up front exactly what concerns needed to be addressed. On top of that, the estimate was 27 PAGES LONG and he titled the email “SOME of the estimates” GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!! Phrases in the estimate were selectively capitalized, as if I needed special help to understand the severity of the words he must have tirelessly written. The cherry on top, the 600 dollar diagnostic fee to create this novel, and then when given pushback about the outrageous fee, says “this does NOT need to turn into a problem”. So courteous!!!!! The initial red flag of his property looking like a junk yard when we arrived should have been enough! My husband and I have 20+ years combined working in the automotive industry and Omar came highly recommended to us, hence the immense disappointment. He always claims, “good work isn’t cheap and cheap work isn’t good”, yeah well good work doesn’t entail this racket either. Save your time and money and take your car to ASC certified and manufacturer trained technicians who care about their brand.

Had our Passat engine valves n such replaced b/c car timing belt went. Didn't mind the 2,200.00 bill but, brakes pedal was grinding when car came back. I do all brakes oil changes etc on our car. Upon inspection, brakes rusted like they came out of a bone yard. Suspect they set car up for another repair job. Job also took forever.

Anyone who dumps on this auto repair shop should literally start driving a horse and carriage. What people don't understand is that when you bring in older import vehicles from the north east United States they are prone to rust deterioration do to climatic factors. As a result, many parts are harder to replace, many need to be fabricated and even more common is the rarity of older European models (which drives the price of parts up as well as renders low availability).I've been an automotive repair technician (ASE certification, various big name certifications and even fabricated parts whilst working in small shops) for quite some time. As well, I've even taught Automotive Repair as a core coarse at the secondary level. All of that said, I'm quite certain my opinion holds merit. Thus, I can honestly say that Omar is an absolute genius. I run a small shop in a rural area and seek advice from the owner of Hans Imports (Omar). This goes beyond the scope of older European models. I often probe Omar for repair strategies, knowledge and diagnostic information on newer Imports. For what its worth, you're in good hands with Hans Imports in North Kingstown. Any of the negative cockamamie complaints are clearly the result of someone thinking they are above the knowledge, experience as well as expertise of the working man!

I had a mystery leak in the sunroof of my GTI. Multiple trips to multiple dealers couldn't figure it out. The more mysterious the problem, the more time ($) it takes to solve it. We were ready to dump the car, but we are glad we took it to Omar and the Hans team. It was a long process, but the car no longer leaks! I'll bring my car to Hans Imports next time it needs some work.

I have previously had a bad experience with this business back in 2021. But this time, in 2023 it is worse. I have a **** VW Beetle that was leaking oil. Back in 2021 he repaired the leak satisfactorily. But there were unacceptable delays on his part and his prices are outrageous. But he did say he guaranteed his work. In December of 2022 it began leaking oil again badly. I contacted him and I was told that if it was something he did, he would repair it for free. So, I had to take the chance and had it towed there. I told him I was in no hurry because it was wintertime. Last March I contacted him and asked when he could get to it, and he said around the middle of April. Three weeks from the middle of April, he still hadn't looked at it. As it turns out, the problem was not his fault, it was something else. He told me several times he would come up with an estimate before he began the work so I wouldn't be surprised when the work was completed. I never saw an estimate nor was I even offered one verbally. Also, I never signed an agreement nor was I offered one. He charged me $4200 for the repair which consisted of replacing an oil cooler and several other inexpensive parts. Needless to say, I was shocked beyond belief. I believe he is retaliating against me because of bad but truthful review gave him on ****** from 2021. Of course, I have to pay his outrageous fee or I don't get my car back.

Omar and the Hans crew are always awesome, outgoing and very honest. Yes they might not be the cheapest place but u get what u pay for in the end. If u drive a euro car best place to go hands down will always recommend before any other shop. Very keen eye to detail and diagnosing issues and treats peoples cars like there own such as covering side panels to to make sure your paint doesn’t get damaged. I would definitely bring my car back to them!Thank u guys for everything and fitting me in to a really busy schedule.Services: Transmission repair

My VW has been in their charge for three months now and is still not repaired (July11-Oct 7 2022) A hefty deposit was paid for half of the estimated amount. Update info on delays is not forthcoming and must be extracted. Promises made are not kept. If feel that I have been scammed for $2500 and my car is being held hostage.Services: Engine repair

By far the craziest auto repair service I’ve ever experienced - EVER!This was my first visit to Hans Imports. I took my vehicle in on a Monday for front suspension repair/replacement (4-6 hours); replace electronic coolant sensor (2 hours); oil change and inspection sticker (two hours at most).Late Monday afternoon, I hadn’t heard from the shop owner, Omar, so I reached out. Omar informed me that he ran into numerous complications, involving nuts and bolts needing repair, replacemen, and/or fabrication connected to both the oil change and ECS replacement. The suspension repair had not yet began, nor did he have the parts. Omar also insisted on emailing me a quote for the suspension repair and assured me he would be sending it out via email Monday evening. I never received the quote.Tuesday --Wednesday—Thursday, I again revived no updates, unless, I initiated a call to the shop, nor did I ever receive the quote for the suspension, which was the primary repair I requested and scheduled three weeks in advance. Each day I contacted the owner, he talked of complications and that the suspension parts were still not delivered. On Thursday evening when I called the owner, he informed me that not only were the repairs not completed, but now my car was “dead” and won’t start - battery issue, which did not exist prior to taking the car to him.Concerned, frustrated, and needing my vehicle back, I instructed the owner to stop work, and I would be picking up the car Friday afternoon; after he pressed me to keep it an additional day.Friday, the owner called wanting to delay my pickup, and I conceded to an additional hour. When I arrived my vehicle was on a charger which was the only way it would start.I entered the office to settle up and get my key. The owner proceeded to review in great detail, all of the work done on the vehicle, including, pictures and a 25 page report.** I want to acknowledge that I sincerely respect and appreciate the attention to detail and thouroughness. HOWEVER, it does not dismiss the fact that the owner spent time on repairs and services I never asked to be completed, nor beforehand did he inform me of the unexpected costs connected to (his) independent intiative to complete said services. All of which, resulted in a bill presented to me for the amount of $1,130.00!!!!!! For an inspection sticker (normally $55), oil change (approximate cost $150); and ECS replacement (approximate cost $500) =$705.00.* The owner had my vehicle for a WEEK without any prior notice AND returned my vehicle to me with a dead battery and the advice that “if the car doesn’t start over the weekend call me Monday”. Oh, okay thanks!* My vehicle did not start the following morning; a weekend, so I went without a vehicle till Monday when it went to another shop and another $300.00.Services: Vehicle Inspection
