The Pawtucket Armory Arts Center is a historic and spacious building located at 172 Exchange Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Built in 1894-5, it is a prominent red brick structure with granite and limestone trim, featuring crenellated towers at the corners. The interior is cavernous and beautiful, giving the space a character reminiscent of a castle or fortress. The center hosts a variety of events, including special arts and crafts shows, such as the popular Holiday Crafts sale, which attracts hundreds of visitors each year. Visitors appreciate the wide selection of art and craft work available for purchase, often making holiday shopping a tradition. The atmosphere is welcoming, with nice background music and friendly staff. Although parking can be a challenge due to its urban location, there is plenty of free street parking nearby, and easy highway access. The building has a rich history, having housed the Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing and Visual Arts from 2005 to 2010, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Armory is a vibrant cultural space with character, offering art, crafts, and community events throughout the year.
Supercool building. The perfect venue for the holiday market. Parking can feel challenging, but there is a public lot just over the bridge with walking distance
