Instructor Wayne Perry was outstanding. Made it very easy to learn and get used to. Mr. Peterson the Owner of American Safety isn’t just the owner he’s a teacher too. He guided me through the entire way answering any questions we had and making sure we understand everything to the best of our abilities. Great class

Wayne Perry did a phenomenal job teaching my AEMT-C class. Stand up guy and gets along with all students, along with being a great teacher. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience here at American Safety.

Would not recommend, no support, no help, no Acknowledgment, etc. they will not help you, literally will watch you struggle. I wish I explored other options before choosing this “school”

My unfortunate experience with American Safety Programs AEMT Hybrid course. I truly did not want to share such a review and spent the better part of two months trying to come to an acceptable resolution but have since been ghosted by the management. I do not want anyone else to have the same experiences that I have had or at the very least want people to be able to make an informed decision. I want to start by saying that I obtained my EMT-B certification through an online program and had a wonderful experience. I learn very well in a self-paced program and had hopes that the American Safety Programs class would be similar. The first issue I had with them is poor communication. I would send my instructor emails with clarifying questions and wouldn’t receive a response for an extended period. When attempting to communicate with management regarding my grievances, it would take weeks and several emails to get a response. I also had the experience of having a scheduled phone meeting with the CEO and he would miss it altogether.
The worst part of my experience however was choosing this program based on the information I was told, only to find out that was not correct. When looking into the program, I was told that the didactic was to be completed online, then a 3–5-day period was scheduled for you to come to their location in Rhode Island for skills training and testing after which the patient contacts could be done at my home agency. I worked diligently to complete my didactic portion finishing it with a final grade of 96. I will digress here to say that there were approximately 14 quizzes covering EKGs and Medications that had no accompanying bookwork. When asked about this, and finally receiving a response, I was told the material would be added within the next 4 days. After never receiving the material, I ended up teaching myself the information. After completing all this work and contacting the management to work on scheduling my time in RI, it was again explained to me that the patient contacts could be completed in my home state (VA). I unfortunately learned from my agency that is against VA OEMS regulations as to practice as a student in VA, you must be in a VA program. When I questioned ASP management about this, their answer for me was to just come to Rhode Island for the patient contacts. As I’m sure you can appreciate, this is not feasible. Had I known this beforehand, I would have never enrolled in the program.
I have lost 6 months of all my hard work, and $2100 in course fees paid to ASP. I reached out to them asking for a refund as, in my opinion, they sold me a product that they could not deliver. I was finally told that I could receive a pro-rated refund that amounted to less than half of the course fee. When I reached back out explaining that I didn’t feel that was adequate, as well as the math they used to calculate the refund was incorrect, I have now not received an email response in 20 days.

If you do not live in Rhode Island, DO NOT ATTEND THIS PROGRAM. They will claim, multiple times, that this is a hybrid program that is capable of accommodating students across the US. That is a bold face lie! As told to me by the instructor Mr. Estrella, after months of taking my money and leading me on, this program very rarely can reach an affiliation agreement with any out of state EMS organization. They also do not respond to messages, emails, or contact attempts of any kind for weeks, and will continue to say that they are doing their best to reach out, but will call any organization you give them maybe one time. This was a horrific experience that at the time of writing I still have to go through, because they won't even answer calls or emails to cancel and refund the class, even if you go through their proper channels. Horrible services, bold faced lies, and outright disrespectful practices. Don't give these people a cent, and if they say they can help you with clinicals, THEY ARE LYING!!! They don't even tell if you're state will allow an outside course, despite me making it very clear before I began, that I lived in Tennessee, I was later told that they can't do it here, but I could save maybe 10% on a hundred dollar a night hotel to stay in Rhode Island for however long it takes to get 50+ patient contacts on an ambulance, and another 50 in the hospital.
HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience! STAY AWAY!!!!!
