I came here for one reason only , to buy winter boots for myself . Went to men's section the guy that was working didn't even acknowledge me. Clearly was having a better time hanging with his friends. I walked around and left taking my business elsewhere . Poor customer service which doesn't feel good since I've literally spent thousands at that store .

The employees at that Nordstrom are friendly and helpful! (I especially like the woman that work in the men's department). There is a cafe in the store also which is great after a day of shopping! I am saddened that this location will be closing in January!

My experience at Nordstrom yesterday evening with Tracey in men's and Maria in alterations was absolutely above and beyond. With my work schedule for the night I was unable to get into the store until 8:30 (closing at 9), but they were more than helpful to provide every service that my boyfriend needed. I even showed Maria a photo of a botched bridesmaids dress alteration I recently had and she let me know that I could come into the store and have it fixed! Having worked in retail and working in customer service now, I know how important great employees are to a business. I am singing the praises of Nordstrom and their team to everyone I know, and I can't wait to work with Tracey and Maria again!

Amazing customer service! I was looking for a specific handbag that was out of stock online, but I decided to ask an employee about it anyways. So glad I did! John was so knowledgeable about the product and the stores that might have it in stock. He went above and beyond trying to get the item for me. At first we didn't have much luck. The bag was indeed sold out, yet he took down my information and told me he would call if it became available again. It did! And just like he said I received a call from him saying he had it on hold for me. All I can say is WOW. Superb customer service skills. John should be promoted. Also Carly was another employee I spoke to briefly who completed my transaction. Great personality as well. Overall, best retail experience I've ever had.

I've shopped at Nordstrom for years, but a recent experience was incredibly disappointing. My mom and I went to their special occasion dress section to find outfits for an upcoming family wedding. Lots of the dresses were not available in my size (10/12). No worries, I made do. The last dress I tried on I was like "This is the one!". However, it was a bit tight and I would be uncomfortable in it so asked if they had a 12, the next size up. The dress was sized as 10/L. The girl who was helping us said that they didn't have a 12 there, but they did in another store and she could order it for me. Perfect! Checking out, my mom tried to pay via debit card. Didn't go through. She then tried her other debit card. Nope. The sales woman suggested that she had been putting in the wrong pin, or didn't have enough money. She suggested she call her bank, which was closed at 8 PM. After standing there for half an hour asking for our information for shipping 3+ times because it "kept getting deleted" and then the incident with my mom's debit card, I ran my credit card. Accepted! We left and my mom checked her bank account; MORE than enough money. We then went to Zara where she made a purchase using the same debit card/pin and no problem. The sales woman was either new or had no idea what she was doing. FLASH FORWARD about 5 days. My dress is delivered- yay! I open the box and....... she ordered the same size (10/L) for me. I looked online and that is the largest size they offer which she failed to tell me. What the heck. Overall, bad experience. Also, I have now wasted a week waiting for the dress and missed out on opportunities that I could have been looking for something that actually fits, with competent sales people.

Can't say it was the best shopping experience. I was very disappointed with my shopping experience here. The service was great, but only after I complained. I try not to compare it to the locations on the West coast, but I have to. They need to learn from them and improve. Really great selection, OK prices, and service that need improvements ASAP. When the online stores can really offer great prices, customer service is something that can make a difference.

I love Nordstrom. I like to shop online and in the store. The customer service, quality of products purchased and the alterations team have always treated me and my family with respect and a smile on their face. Thank you Nordstrom for your service and good quality.

I have been a Nordstrom customer for years because it is the closest high end store to the city I live in with out having to travel into Boston the selection is great never an issue the semi annual is amazing as of last week I have decided I will no longer purchase anything from Nordstrom company's for these reasons in July I had purchased Givenchy slides which had fallen apart the second time I wore them so they were clearly defective I had called Nordstrom customer service because they were purchased online I was told I can bring them to a store and they would ship me a new pair because they don't carry them in the Providence RI location when I went to the Providence store they would not take them back I was treated awful as if I were some degenerate and had done something wrong so instead of throwing away $300.00 flip flops I glued my self but I still was shopping here as it is my store of choice so fast forwarded to November December I have done almost all my Christmas shopping online with Nordstrom spending an Est of over $5,000.00 so I had ordered my mother in law a burberry wallet when I received it in the mail it was not the item which I ordered it was a used Burberry wallet which Nordstrom doesn't even have on there website so I called customer service again I was told I can bring it in to the nearest Nordstrom location which was Providence I attempted to exchange it they would not take it they said it was not the item purchased I had explained that is why I was bringing it back they would not budge so I then went home called customer service again explaining what had happened they told me I can send the wallet back to them they will review it and after 14 days they will decide if I will be credited I had paid $595.00 for the wallet I didn't feel that was fair and I couldn't believe that they had sent me a used wallet that wasn't even what I ordered I had to call my back and dispute the charges I am very disappointed and wont be buying anything from this company they have gone down hill

I came here for 2 different items... Creed, Irish Tweed Cologne & Nike shoes for my daughter... BOTH times I needed help, I literally had to walk around the store looking for someone to help me... So frustrating especially because I was running on short time. The lady helping me with mens fragrance had NO idea what I was talking about looking online to order the fragrance. The 2 stars I'm giving are for the lady in Women's Fragrance (short hair, maybe 50?) Soooooo Sweet! Helped me with Chloe & even gave me some samples to go. Wish all the customer service was like this. It was a Saturday evening...

I am a big fan of Nordstrom because of the quality goods they offer. Their men's shoe department is probably one of the best in the city and they have many styles for many budgets. This last time, I went to get some home decor accents for my living room and even though their selection is not the largest...it is all quality products that look and fell great. Their customer service is usually good...I think it has gone down in the past 10-20 years, but it is still very good compared to other big chain stores. They offer free WiFi, clean restrooms, a great cafe upstairs and downstairs and places to sit and relax during shopping.

A lot of people might laugh at this, but the following story is absolutely true. I have been shopping there for about fifteen years i use the same salesman Frank and always buy Tommy Bahama 2xl mainly short sleeve shirts. One of my shirts had a pull in it. It has now been ten days and the corporate office I guess is telling the store not to credit me. My wife and I are so hurt. I have tried for five days to get a credit. The policy is u need to show proof of purchase my bank has closed and I called master card I would take a lie detector test that I paid for the shirt I won't shop there again.

This store is woefully understocked. A woman in the shoe department was such a condescending j*** I almost walked out on principle. Fortunately another lady in that department was nice and thought it appropriate to get me the shoes I asked to try on. 2 stars earned for the pleasant and professional staff in Men's, hosiery, and the helpful person in the shoe department. Unfortunately most of my conversations with them were about things that Nordstrom does not sell at that location (granted some things could be ordered online).

Love everything Nordstrom including the online site, the store + its return policies! The store in Providence RI is great: Clean, helpful employees, clothing grouped together so you can actually see what you're looking at, cosmetic area is wonderful and cannot forget the variety of shoes ! The store has a cafe + a coffee shop. When I'm not inline and go to the PP Mall, I don't leave the store-everything you need for an outfit. 5* Nordstrom :))

I came to Nordstrom looking for a new outfit. I was so impressed by the sales person who greeted me. She was upbeat and very understanding of my personali and style. She figured out my style immediately and matched me with three outfits to choose from. I ended up buying two outfits because I was so pleased with all of them! Nordstrom is the oasis in the swamp that is Providence Place. Year after year, I've always been entirely pleased with the level of service I've received from the Men's Shop. Whether I'm there for dress or sport shirts, jeans, shoes, or formal wear, I can always count on a professional level of service. They have all of my favorite brands, good sales if you can wait for them, and will order whatever you need if it's not in stock. You pay a fair amount for this experience, but it's worth it. Park on the lowest level of the north parking lot for easy access. And I like to shop there early in the day...the sales staff can spend more time helping you out.
