We love East Side Nursery School! Both of our daughters attended and it was so wonderful to watch them learn and grow in this caring, supportive community. The teachers are experts at meeting each child where they are, while infusing the school day with hands-on learning and joy.

This place feels like home! My child lives coming here and has grown so much from his experiences! The parent involvement really creates a sense of community ❤️

I honestly can't imagine a better place for our daughter to have been these past two years, especially coming out of the disruption and setback, socially, of COVID. The team of teachers--Bekah, Karen and Sarah--really got to know what makes our girl tick, when she's most comfortable, where she could grow, and where she shines. The balance of imaginative play and hands on learning among the various "centers" is perfectly suited to these children. The atmosphere is inviting, even for me (I enjoy lingering after drop off). A place like this seems nothing short of magic. This, to me, is as essential in preschool years as learning to spell your name and play well with others.

I can not say enough about this school. We moved to Providence 3 years ago in the middle of the first wave of the pandemic. When it came time for our 3 yo to go to school, she was a bit nervous and COVID had limited her social interactions. Once she got to school, however, she thrived. The teachers at ESNS are fabulous. They meet each child where they are at and allow kids to be kids, all while somehow teaching them about art and music, science and reading. They are patient and dedicated and committed to caring for each child as an individual. We are thrilled with the way this school allows our child to be herself while supporting her growth!

My oldest went here for two years, my middle has started her first year, and I can't wait for my third to go when it's her turn! This play-based school is so much more than "just playing" - my children have grown in social-emotional ways by leaps and bounds in their time here, and my oldest at least was well prepared for the Providence Public School environment after her two years. You'll never meet more loving, conscientious teachers than Karen, Sarah, and Bekah. I will be very, very sad when my children finish out their years at ESNS - I will miss it so much!

ESNS was such a magical place for our family! We've now moved on to kindergarten but still find ourselves talking about Ms. Sarah, Ms. Bekah, and Ms. Karen regularly and how much we miss them. It was lovely to get to spend time in classroom and witness the fun learning firsthand and also get to know my child's classmates. The playground space is a beautiful world for kids that age. It's just the right size for them to have some autonomy and also have teacher-help right at the ready. I can't imagine how we would've survived the two pandemic years with all the closures if we hadn't had the privilege of spending our days at East Side Nursery. I can't say enough about the kind and lovely staff and the parent board; everyone is so dedicated to the happiness and wellbeing of the children. We loved the events, the fundraisers, and all of our time with this great group!

Both of our kids attended East Side Nursery School and loved it. The staff is caring and gentle. The playground and classroom are great for engaging, imaginative play. And the curriculum is thoughtful and creates the perfect balance of guided instruction and mindful play. Because the school is a co-op parents are able to help in the classroom every month or so and it’s a great chance to watch your child engage with friends and teachers. I can’t recommend this preschool highly enough!

Our family has thoroughly enjoyed our time at East Side Nursery School. We have two daughters who have learned so much from the creative play-based, cooperative learning environment here. The community of parents and teachers is welcoming, supportive and fun! We could not imagine a better experience for our girls, and they have gained the social skills and overall confidence to navigate friend groups and successfully make the transition into kindergarten. There are not enough stars above to accommodate how happy we are with our experience here!

East Side Nursery School is a wonderful community and a great place for our boy to grow and thrive. He has made so many friends and his cooperative play skills have soared. Being a Coop school (helping in the classroom a few times a yr) is a nice way to get to know the other kids and see what their day looks like. During Covid, the school has moved to mostly outside and we couldn’t be happier. It has made drop off easier and the kids love playing in the wonderful space they have dedicated to outdoor learning and playing!

East Side Nursery School is a wonderful community and school for our boy. It is doing wonders in assisting him in the transition from at home full time to full day kindergarten next year. He has made lots of friends and his cooperative play has excelled. During Covid times, they have done an extraordinary job updating the playground space and making it a safe, fun place to play in most weather, all morning. We couldn't be happier!

My son has attended ESNS for the past two years and he loves it! It's a great community and the teachers are wonderful. Their new extended hours fit great in our family schedule and I never have a doubt that he is enjoying his time there while being well cared for. It's a great school!

Our twins attended East Side Nursery School and their younger sister is in her second year there. Carole and Michelle are excellent teachers. The environment is safe and encourages exploration. The co-op aspect allows me to be in the school several times during the year, which my daughter loves, and has led to some great friendships with other parents. I can't say enough good things about this school.

This place is like Mother Goose's house. I went to visit a lot of preschools and this was the most easy going, relaxed one I saw. I felt welcome in a way that had that very co-op feel of "come in, make yourself comfortable and then help serve the snacks with the other moms", which felt much more real than the polite scrutiny I got at a couple other preschools I checked out. I visited the 4yo class and found kids working and playing together in harmony and witnessed problem solving, negotiation, and genuine camaraderie. The schedule won't work for someone looking for a daycare type place, but for anyone else I strongly recommend checking it out!
