If you are looking for a New York/Boston hair stylist with the best prices Michael at Strands is amazing!!! I used to spend so much to go to newbury st in Boston for my hair and never loved how it looked. Then I switch to Michael and I have never been happier. He worked with me to figure out the perfect color and help my hair get back to being healthy. He is always flexible and figures out to make it work no matter what. The salon itself is also gorgeous and everyone is so friendly. I will def keep going back!

Michael has been my hairstylist for over 18 years. Previously, I’ve experienced Diego‘s in Boston, Rob Rivers in Mystic and Kenneth Cote in Providence. He is in a league of his own — Always learning the latest techniques and is a perfectionist in every aspect of hairstyling. I highly recommend him and Strands Salon for any occasion.

Customer success is very much lacking here. Scheduled an appt and was asked to wait, which is fine, however, waiting for 25 minutes and then being taken back and told my 1 hr appt is only going to be 30 minutes, even though I pre paid.
This person didn’t apologize for being behind and then wouldn’t try and be willing to be a little late for the next appt since the one prior to me was behind.
I would say the atmosphere is fine but the service is very Lacking. Their hair dressers should be more accommodating and even a quick apology for running behind which I didn’t get.
Please have better customer service for your patrons. I get it’s just a “hair cut” and as long as you do a good job, wash, clean etc it would be fine.
I won’t be coming back.
Giving 2 stars b/c it looked clean and the other people were nice enough.

I had a fabulous experience here, i must share. I walked in hoping to book a color and cut correction after a very bad experience at another salon. I was desperate wandering in close to their closing time just to see if they could help. Chances seemed slim i would get anything done before having to exist in public again.
They immediately took me in, consulted with me on the spot despite being busy, and were able to fit me in the very next morning. Dailyn really worked a miracle with my hair. I feel so much better and so happy with it! She completely transformed my situation. I am thoroughly impressed by the customer service from the staff, friendly vibe of the patrons, and professional, personable, creative skill level of my new stylist. Can't wait to be back in 6 weeks!

I had been going here for years, but am finished with this place due to terrible service. I had an appointment with a new person Shane a few months ago which was ok. Then when I called to schedule another haircut, he accused me of "no- showing" to my first appointment and refused to see me. When I updated him that I was there and as proof there is a credit card charge directly to his "Shane styles" account on that day, he responded quite rudely and refused to see me. Never going back there again and will certainly let others know of my experience. As a working professional, it's also hard to get a person on the line to schedule an appointment.

Shane not only does a phenomenal job on my hair each time, he is knowledgeable in what he recommends / suggests for what will look best and he’s always right! Highly recommend!

This place took 3+ hours for an 1.5 hr job and charged more than agreed upon because the stylist put in more product then originally agreed upon. If you have nothing else scheduled for your day and don't mind people taking personal liberties with your hair this is your place.

Went yesterday for a haircut and I was pleasantly surprised. Location is easy to get to in the Wayland Square area, parking can be hit or miss, but I am local so I was able to just walk.
There is seating right when you walk in. I didn't have to wait long for my appointment and I did show up early.
Price wasn't too bad for a haircut, a little higher than I would like to pay, but it's not bad considering the care that went into the haircut.
Stylist: Haircut I got was quality, my stylist took a lot of care during the initial cut, the styling and detailing. Shoutout Shane for the service.
