We got married at the University Club on NYE and I cannot recommend this venue enough. The staff went above and beyond to make our special day exceptional. Our vision for this night was a cozy and intimate dinner party, and the ambiance of the University Club captured exactly that. The food was outstanding. Several of our guests commented that it was not only some of the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding, but overall delicious and cooked to perfection. The bartenders and waitstaff truly exceeded our expectations as well. A special shoutout to Talia and India, their attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Jess, thank you for bringing all our visions to life! If you are looking for a unique venue, without a doubt the University Club is your answer

The food is very good. Some of the best providence has to offer. The atmosphere is very calm and intimate yet welcoming. The bartender makes some incredible cocktails, and the old world bar feel is very fitting.

Being a non-clubmember within a visiting group, I guess I should have lowered the bar. It was interesting the bouncer outside directed a group of seniors to the stairs, rather than offering the hidden elevator.We were directed to a room to the left of the entrance and directed to pick any table. A server was beginning to open the wine, and said she would come around. I chose the chardonnay.The next two times I wanted another glass, I had to get up and get it myself. Later, I wanted another glass when she came around, and I was told "we are out" of the Chardonnay. So I switched to the Savignon blanc. Okay.The salad greens were crisp and cold as they should be.We had a choice of three entrees, chicken, short ribs, or salmon. I selected the salmon. The fish portion, about half the size of my hand, was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I don't know if the rice was supposed to be flavorless and sticky, but if I got it on my pitching hand, an MLB umpire would have thrown me out with the 10-game suspension.Dessert was a belated plate of assorted cookies, undistinguished.I don't know, maybe I should have brought my yacht with me, but Providence never made me feel welcome, I always felt like an outsider. I have dined all over the world, and have resided in the New Orleans area since 1975, so this was not my first rodeo in a high end Club.Disappointing.

The Uclub is a fantastic club. The facilities are wonderful. The food is excellent and the wine selection is wonderful. Members enjoy a great calendar of events and social activities.

Went to this venue for a Wedding renewal ceremony and it was a great time. The staff was pleasant and professional and it was a great atmosphere.

Excellent service. I love the calamari appetizer because it was created with such unique ingredients. It was a fun twist on the traditional option. The farro salad was comprised of several veggies, each tasting unique and delicious. Altogether the dish was nothing short of phenomenal. Even the turkey sandwich was worth mentioning- very flavorful! Wonderful place for a special occasion.

University Club of Brown University.. Elegant and Homey. Blazing Fireplace adds warmth to cold night.. Parking on Benefit street is iffy..!Good if Valet Parking available..Wonderful chandeliers, in small but refined meeting room.. Pub available if accompanied by member.Open to public for certain events.. Small but charming..
