We've just moved in and had a few residents ask if we needed help moving our stuff in. That's a great feeling. The leasing staff were very helpful and friendly. So far this experience has been very positive.

Slatersville Mill is neither the best nor worst place I’ve ever lived. Unfortunately for them; it’s closer to the worst.
Pros: The grounds are beautiful and I enjoyed living at a place where I could see a river from my window. It was also close to 146, a pizza place, and local shopping center. I also enjoyed the gym amenity as it was nice not to have to buy a gym membership.
Cons: Everything else. My significant other and I were rented out an apartment that was much smaller than we anticipated. The kicker was the lack of bedroom window and a “walk in closet” that was about three feet by three feet. The apartment itself was clearly cheaply done barely large enough for two people. The price was also unreasonable for $2200 a month. We’re in North Smithfield, not downtown Providence.
The HVAC units never seemed to work. In the winter the heat would not get above 66 and in the summer it wouldn’t go below 73. When we brought these issues to maintenance we were told that since these were old mills some units just can’t get to the right temps. Sorry, I’m paying $2200 a month for “oh well”?
The walls, ceilings, and floors were paper thin. The older gentleman above us loved to listen to country western at 3am on full blast. We could hear every lyric. Good for him but not good for our sleep schedules.
There was always a funky smell outside, especially in the back by the dog park. Of course it was probably pet waste but I didn’t want to smell that. The animals themselves would often defecate in the hallways and stairways.
Packages would be left incorrectly. There were days that Amazon said the package was left but we could not find it. I assume this is because the drivers did not leave them in the proper room.
Finally, the worst issue was with the air conditioning. We put in a request to have it looked at as we noticed a puddle on the floor in front of the HVAC system. No one came to look at it for weeks. We put in another one, still nothing even though the puddle was growing bigger. I stopped by the front desk 3 times and each time Stephen, the maintenance man said the problem was resolved. It never was. After over a month of this the puddle was so bad that finally Stephen acknowledged the issue and gave us a blower which really did nothing but blow the mold smell all over the apartment. We were disgusted and thankful that our move out date was the next day.

Beautiful community, safe, pet friendly, and wonderful neighbors. Located near Rt 146, walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and library. If you have a dog, this is a wonderful place to live, lots of room to walk your dog.

I am a current resident, I have not been able to get a nights sleep since moving in. I can hear every word my upstairs neighbors say every cough and any other activities they are performing they are up all night and this has been going on since I move in. I have asked to move to a different apartment at my own cost and was told I would have to a transfer fee as well. All they do is want you to try and record the other residents and even when supplied those recording they want you to keep doing it with no resolution. Again I only asked to switch to a new apartment and have got no help. If you value sleep and privacy do not live here

The apartments are small for the price you pay. The walls are paper thin so you hear everything your neighbors are doing, including the ones below you. There is no storage onsite, we had to downsize immensely and rent a storage unit for the rest of our belongings. We were there for a year while we shopped around for houses. I’d recommend this place to older couples with no kids or retiree’s.

I just moved to Florida from there in 2024 and I can say they do a great job w maintenance! My hallway was outdated. Solid doors, walls and ceilings for noise dampening. Had to pay 3200 to breach my contract but that's life. Pool way too small for that many units. Nice area and natural environment.

It took FOUR maintenance requests to get a new washer/dryer unit. Not a good experience.

Not luxury living like the sign on the property says, but in a nice historical part of town.

There is a rat living in an apartment!!
My son, who is a minor, lives at this complex with his mom. He hasn't been able to stay there for the last seven weeks due to a rat infesting and residing at this apartment that has not been resolved to this day. The last day I was there, I could here it moving within the wall.
The droppings found there, which I discovered after throwing away a box spring made the apartment and living conditions a health risk and his bed had to be thrown out because of the damage made by the rodent(s). I understand that time is required to eradicate this problem, but seven weeks!! This is his home, close to his school, he has been uprooted, and meanwhile it appears as though this problem either has not been seriously addressed or it has not been taken into account that a minor has been unable to live/sleep in his own apartment there.
When I have come to pick up my son from being dropped off from the bus at school, I have entered the back entrance of the main building to find delivery boxes stacked at the entrance way, food that has been delivered and just left there, and a hole in the wooden floor has been covered with duct tape.
My son has been living there for almost ten years, and as of today, I see there are about seven apartments available, with an additional four apartments available within the next week. Yet, this complex has left a minor unable to go and stay in his apartment for a long period of time nor sleep there for the past seven weeks. I think this has been a horrible solution to this problem, and I am thoroughly disappointed on how it has been handled by a supposed luxury apartment complex.
