A horrible, HORRIBLE, bank/credit union. My father passed away a week ago and I am in desperate need of finalizing things like his Obituary and need the documents in their safety deposit box which includes the original power of attorney and wills. All of it was in a safety deposit box at Washington Bank and Trust with my name on it and they were wonderful to speak with me and help in any way they can. Unfortunately my parents moved to Greenville and decided to move the safety deposit box but forgot to add my name to the new box. No one at Navigant cares. God forbid they recommend that my parents put their children on it just in case of this sort of issue. Nope. I have a copy of the POA but they will not accept that. They want me to transport my dying mother to them so that she is present in order to open the safety deposit box. I'm sure that it's a business model as the longer they can hold on to the stuff in the box the more money they can charge. I have never seen anything like this before, an absolutely heartless company and heartless employees both at the credit union and the corporate office. I sincerely hope that they all have their day of Karma. Incidentally, I have both of the keys for box, a copy of the power of attorney and my name on the original power of attorney in the box. Nope, doesn't matter in the least to them. They are unwilling to open it and remove that document they are in need of. Easier to cause my mom more pain right after her husband has died then lift a finger. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.Update: (due to the reply from Navigant). I gave you guys 3 tries and all I could get was the same reluctance to do anything at all. Sure, I could email you below but I'm certain I will get the same result where you will just waste more of my time explaining why you can't do anything to help me. I've now hired a lawyer who needs to drive an hour to my mom nursing home with me, at great expense, so that I can create another POA despite the fact that the POA already exists in the safety deposit box. Every other company I have called to deal with issues like this have been great and did what they could to assist, except for Navigant. This includes the woman at the Greenville branch who dismissed me, the woman who I sent an email to because I found her business card in my parents belongings and subsequently called and have received no communication at all and the person at the corporate office who was unwilling to do anything. You win, I'm getting another POA and will clear out the box shortly.Update 2: I worked with the lawyer to get a second POA on Monday morning and met him at the nursing home to get it signed. I then went to the branch and met with Sharon Abrahamson. She knew of this review and did everything she could to get me through the final process as smoothly as possible. She was very professional and did a great job and I was appreciative. Because of Sharon only, not the others I spoke with that worked for Navigant but will leave them unnamed, I changed my review to 3 stars.

ACCOUNTS CLOSED!…a single full balance transfer cost me $37 in fees…a $3 transfer fee NOT INCLUDED IN THE TRANSFER AMOUNT put me at -$3, which then incurred an ADDITIONAL $34 overdraft fee…I drove in the next day to pay the $3…they REFUSED to reverse the $34 overdraft fee…it wasn’t even from a purchase, it was from a NAVIGANT INITIATED TRANSFER…they told me I had to pay them $37 because I should have decreased the transfer amount by $3…I argued the app should take the fee from the amount transferred or warn/accept that the account would go negative and incur an overdraft fee vs. blind-siding customers with unexpected fees…they also told me to sit down in an office to discuss vs. reversing the overdraft at the teller line because it sounds “COMPLICATED”…enjoy the last $34 overdraft fee you're getting out of me, I hope you like the review :)

do yourselves a favor, go elsewhere! if you are fed up with "banks" there are plenty of other credit unions in our area! navigant is not the little credit union it once was. navigant recently told me "not to worry" about any late charges on my deceased parents mortgage, while we waited for it to sell, it was on the market and the mortgage was paid thru oct 2021. fast forward to closing on the house in march 2022. in the list of closing fees~in addition to all the other "charges" listed was ~$150. in late charges. no big deal, right...?!!! bigger deal for the consumer than the huge corporation!!! when i questioned the charges (late charges for deceased "owners"??) one of the !@#$%^&* at navigant told me, i was lucky, because they could have foreclosed when my mom died!members are owners...ha

This isn't your typical credit union. When I walked in, I felt like it was more of a home than a financial institution. I felt so welcome. It was a great experience!

Nobody represents Rhode Island banking like Navigant does. I left the big banks years and years ago and brought my business and personal accounts to Navigant. Everyone at this branch (especially Sharon) cares about their customers and make me and my family feel special!

Got a very nasty letter rudely scolding me about an "unauthorized overdraft" from one of my several well-funded accounts here. Of course there was none, all verified with online and app ledgers. Went to the branch to find out what happened. "A glitch", they said. "Everyone gets those offensive letters" they said. "Good bye, Navigant", I said.
