I am not one to easily leave reviews but I felt like I had to. We had a regular fireplace and wanted to get a wood stove insert. We were referred to john and his company and we couldn’t be happier. From the beginning john was very informative and knowledgeable. Dan who installed our Iron Strike wood stove was also great. Needless to say we are very happy with what John and his company did. If we ever need another wood stove again he is who we will use and I will always recommend him.

Took apart my Jotul stove for cleaning and could not reinstall parts removed for cleaning. Left job with my stove inoperable and told me to find someone else to fix it.

I bought two wood Burning stoves from fire side John took the time to explain how they worked and the benefits of having the stoves That I bought in the last four years they are exceptional product. When my glass cracked because of my own fault John was able to order me one and explain to me how to change it without additional cost I would highly recommend fire side for any wood stoves

I have been searching and shopping and asking questions in regards to getting a new insert for about 2 years. I finally bit the bullet after talking to John and getting the full demonstration. He was awesome, The price was as good as I could find (without getting a cheaply made stove from a big box store) and the guys who installed and cleaned out the chimney were super professional and personable. It was an A+ experience all round. Now I need the cold weather to bless us so I can crank this baby up.

John (and his crew) were extremely knowledgeable about the products that are sold and installed. John's calm demeanor and willingness to take the time to explain how each product works and what to expect in the process, was beneficial to us in making a great decision. Unfortunately my one and only experience with this business was not good. I had contacted them via email trying to get details on accessories for a gas stove that they listed on their website (and were listed as a Lennox Hearth Products Dealer). I called 5 days later after not hearing anything back from my email. During the call the person who answered the phone was nice and tried to help telling me that the website is out of date and they need to update things (and that they no longer sold accessories due to difficulties in supporting customers). I told her I did not need support, I only wanted to purchase the accessory. Then a few minutes after that the phone was grabbed away from her and I was verbally attacked by a male voice. He eventually said "are you a customer of ours" and I did not even get a chance to answer then he said "we don't want your business" and hung up the phone. I would not recommend this place.
edit: Feb 12, 2019 > I can only point out that the response from the "owner" is not accurate. I live ~40 miles from this business. Not 2,000, I have no clue how they even tried to figure that out and I can't even imagine how someone can make that up or why you would think I would call a business that far away. the fact that you ripped the phone away from the lady worker and yelled at me and hung up is completely unprofessional - I never asked to speak to "the owner" - the fact that the website said they had a product and were a provider for that vendors product is the root of the entire issue, the whole response is bogus. Plain and simple, I would not trust this business in any way. Lipstick on a pig is still a pig.

Just a great experience. The stove was everything that John said it would be. I highly recommend John Debar and Fireside Stove. Fair price for a top product and top notch installation as well as yearly maintenance.

Please pass along our thanks and kudos to Ivan for doing a great job installing the two stoves. He was extremely conscientious, and took great pains to keep things clean and neat -- not the easiest thing to do when working with chimneys and in tight quarters. He did a great job and we really appreciate the effort.

The installers made for a very smooth installation. I am very pleased with their attention to details and their coordination of efforts to pull off the install.
