Not sure what happened, different management maybe? Ate here a while back and loved everything about the place. Food was excellent again but the attitude that came with it, in Warren of all places, not appreciated. Invite people into exploring your innovative dishes, don’t condescend. Providence, Boston, and NYC are close so it’s not as though your patrons don’t know what a quality dining experience should be like.

Server was pompous and distracted. We asked for details about the menu and she shared the absolute minimum so we felt unprepared to order because the menu was cryptic to say the least. It’s a place that’s striving to be innovative but falls short. We felt that it was a struggle to order drinks too. They insisted on “suggesting” the gin for my martini but then forgot to add olives. Both drinks an food took forever to arrive and the dishes were smaller than appetizer portions. We left starving.

Very tasty dinner, and the oysters were shucked perfectly!

Wish I could give 6 stars for service. So nice, attentive and knowledgeable. Every dish was creative, balanced and perfectly presented. Will be back as often as possible.

We stopped for drinks and apps after riding on the East Bay bike path. The drinks were strange and the service was SLOW! The tuna crudo was good. French fries looked like they were designed after McDonald's - mediocre. The waitress chatted up another table for 15 minutes after she asked if we wanted the check. Really!? Haughty, uptight service. Multiple servers but not helping each other out. Trying to be Brooklyn in RI?! Great venue but need to be more attentive to the patrons' needs.

Probably one of the best restaurants in New England. The food is phenomenal and it will wake up your tastebuds and have them tingling with flavors. The service is very personal and friendly and everyone has a smile on their face.

One of the best fish dishes I've ever had. Full grilled fluke with amazing sauce/toppings. Will go back and have recommended to many!

Enjoy the family style. My wife and I shared the olives, fries, cacio Pepe and little neck clams with sour dough bread and it was all amazing. Got a chilled red and crushed every bit of everything.

To power through all the obstacles as a small business owner and survive, especially in the restaurant industry, is a testimony to one's strength and dedication to their craft. Truly a delicious, humbling establishment that deserves accolades. Bravo!

I was recently thinking and I came to the conclusion that bywater might just be my favorite restaurant.....in the whole world! {mind blown}Yes, there have been some changes (RIP brown bread) but that's ok, change is good for us and they still consistently check all the boxes: great atmosphere, creative dishes with an emphasis on local ingredients, completely crushable cocktails, perfect for a small group celebrating a special occasion, a romantic date spot for two, or a solo YOLO treat yoself late night dinner. My most recent experience was a solo outing. I was graciously welcomed like an old friend and seated at the bar. The conversation with the bartender was just the right mix of friendly but also respecting that maybe I just wanted to sit and quietly enjoy my experience. As for the food on this night - the tautog crudo was perfect, the Squid Cacio e Pepe left me so full but also wishing I had ordered the full portion so I could have leftovers for my midnight snack - I'm still thinking about it weeks later. To cap it off, I had the Creme Fraiche Tart with CLAM CARAMEL. No, that is not a typo, and the tart was expletively delicious. One million stars for forever to infiniti!

The crab dip and crudo were amazing! Loved the milk punch. Thanks for squeezing us in with a full book of reservations!

went here with friends for half price oysters on a Monday evening, even though the restaurant was half full, you HAVE to make a reservation, even for the bar. Pretentious! Somewhat odd menu, this restaurant just HAS to add their own unique 'twist' to everything, including pureeing their scallop entree, garnishing a dirty vodka martini w a carrot stick, and giving you hot sauce and a sweet vinegar only instead of cocktail sauce w raw oysters! One shouldnt have to ask for cocktail sauce woth raw oysters around here. the flavor of the food was good enough, they got me my cocktail sauce.....and then double charged us for our happy hour oysters! We didn't realize til we'd left, and i went back the next day in person, and followed up w an email trying to get someone to fix the mistake but they didn't care, or respond. I won't be going back, there are plenty of reasons ther restaurants on water steeet where I'll spend my money instead.

A new favorite in Rhode Island- Bywater is an innovative, unpretentious, upscale dining experience. We scored same day 7:15pm reservations via Resy for a last minute birthday celebration for four.We tried basically everything on their seasonal, constantly changing menu, including:- Four Crudos- Cheese & Olives- Lamb Tartare- Black Bass Collars (like fish chicken wings)- Daikon Radish Salad- Squid Cacio e Pepe- Steamed Little Necks- Whole FlukePortions range from small to enormous- with plenty of options for fish lovers. The ingredients were so fresh and the service was fantastic! We will definitely be coming back to try the outdoor dining in the summer!

Bartender is awesome and crudo was great. Oyster was extremely brine-y if that is what you're interested in. The sauces are excellent, but a little heavy on the salt. Basically very good execution on mediocre food quality. Is give it another try in about 6 months. I felt like I was being sold filet when the quality of the food was flank with a high caliber execution. Service was great!

Service was great, but the food did not live up to the ambiance. Crudo was lukewarm, wine selection was a miss and the entrees were heavily disguised in salt and other seasonings. Monkfish was served rare and very boney.
