Car has grease, stains and microdirt throughout the interior. Check engine light also on. I don't see how the car was cleaned prior to my rental. Good news is they did actually have a car for me to rent last second, hence why I cant give just 1 star.

We rented a mid size SUV. It ran GREAT! The car was super nice. Staff was friendly. When we returned the car we filled the gas tank beforehand. Somehow, they said I was three gallons short and charged me over $10. a gallon to fill it up. What a ripoff. I am not sure what happened. Possibly when I filled it the pump at the gas station showed it was full when it wasn't. In any event, over $10. a gallon was ridiculous. Other than that no problems.

First car they gave me had a check engine light that came on, multiple scratches, and torn gas door. It was apparently the car got into a wreck. Second car never got closed out.
Customer service phone war games to obtain a receipt between 1-800-352-7900 and 401-736-5912. Both claiming that it was each other’s job and couldn’t further assist because the account was still opened despite that I returned the car during normal working hours.
5-7 business days to receive a receipt that I should have gotten day of the rental car return. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable resolution.
If you can afford a different company, do not rent from Avis or their partner Budget.

Save your gas receipt, returned the car completely full and had to contest the fuel charge. I've never had this happen at any other rental.

Terrible service. We rented an EV online, intending to charge the car overnight at the location where we were staying, as there were no fast chargers near our location but we could plug the car into the home where we were staying. I had rented an EV from Hertz earlier in the year, and the charger was included in the rental, so I assumed Avis would be the same way. But we weren't given the car charger with the car and we weren't told that the charger wasn't with the car when we left the airport. Two days later, we tried to call this location to get a charger for 3 hours (!!!) and no one answered. I eventually had to call the Hertz desk at the airport where a very kind woman agreed to give my phone number to the Avis desk and ask them to call me. Only then did I actually hear from an employee at this Avis location, who told me that they don't give the chargers with electric cars because people steal them. We paid a deposit for this EV that would cover the cost of the charger if it went missing, so no idea what the point of a deposit is if they won't give us the charger. Not to mention that they essentially accused us of potentially being thieves! They told us we would have to drive all the way back to the airport (not close to where we were staying) and get a different car. I was also told that the manager of this location would speak with me when we came to exchange the car- that didn't happen, by the way. When we went back to the airport, two other employees (one at the desk and the one who took the returned car from us) told us they don't give the chargers to renters because people steal them. We exchanged the car but were seriously downgraded from a new SUV with low mileage and nice amenities to a smaller, older sedan with high mileage. I spoke with multiple representatives from corporate customer service who told me that it is not Avis policy to withhold EV chargers. It took multiple days to resolve the issue that, according to corporate Avis, should not have been an issue in the first place. We eventually received an email from the manager- a full day after we had already returned the car, and she told us she didn't know why we were told chargers aren't given out because of theft. She said that was not the case, and yet 3 of her employees all told us the same thing. We certainly won't be renting from Avis again, and especially not at this location.

first & foremost the customer services was great at PVD TF GREEN AIRPORT (pick up & drop off) unfortunately after picking up the vehicle and making a stop at a store i did a quick scan of the inside & noticed that there was dog poop on the passenger side floor, dog poop stain in the trunk a random person water bottle. you can see dirty scuff stain of whoever was using it prior.
not only that i dropped the vehicle off about 2 hrs early, MADE SURE i stopped at the gas station close by to FILL the tank up. even had a conversation about the gas with the drop off guy who told me to have a nice evening. i then received an email with a FUEL SERVICE CHARGE.. i dont understand how a $64.55 rental turned into $111.06
overall i will not recommend this place to anyone, especially for anyone with babies & young children due to the unsanitary conditions .

Again and again, Avis proves itself to be a criminal cartel; this location was no different.
I had to divert out of my way here because of an oil light. I told them that there was no way I could return the car to New York in time because of the diversion. They claimed they could only extend it an hour at their location and New York would happily take care of the rest. While the notion of relying on a NYC avis agent to be competent or helpful made me queasy, I had to take them at their word. Of course, when I got to NYC, the agent said he could not do anything (which I also do not believe).
To make matters worse, they charged me for a fuel discrepancy on the faulty vehicle I had to return. New York said this was not the standard practice but he also could not correct.
I had to escalate via a call to the President’s Club desk, who in turn had to file an accounting ticket. 20 more minutes of my life wasted on top of the 2h diversion to providence.
Why do I have to fight to pay the agreed upon amount AFTER suffering the inconvenience of a faulty vehicle? If anything I should have the whole bill comped.
I can never really tell if it is malice or incompetence that caused all of Avis’ perennial billing discrepancies. I suspect it is a bit of both.
