My experience renting a Hertz vehicle at T.F. Green Airport in Providence, RI was outstanding. The vehicle was immediately available, clean, and in good operating order. The counter agent (Devon) and check-out agent (Nancy) were extremely helpful and professional - their words and actions made me feel that Hertz values my business.

This was an extremely disappointing experience! I would absolutely not rent from this location again. As a President’s Circle member, I arrived expecting the benefits that come with that status—only to be told that it’s “not an option” at this location.
The staff made no effort whatsoever to offer an upgrade, even though my membership clearly guarantees at least one class upgrade for economy or standard rentals. Instead, I was simply told, “you get the car you booked,” which completely defeats the purpose of having elite status.
To make matters worse, they suggested I go to the Boston airport for a “preference swap,” only for me to find out that Boston won’t honor it—and apparently this Hertz PVD location does this all the time just to avoid dealing with customers!
What a shame for such a well-known brand to treat loyal customers this way. Definitely not the service I expect from Hertz, and I won’t be returning to this branch again.

You simply cannot go wrong renting from Hertz. Super easy pickup and return, it's simple and trouble-free.
Great cars, friendly staff and good prices. Going with a well known brand like Hertz is truly a sound decision.

If you ever have to go inside to the counters at the garage. Just Cancel your reservation and rent somewhere else. Or at least don’t let the rude associate help you. You’ll know who it is because he doesn’t know how to operate a computer or look up information that, even a 5 year old can Google. However his coworker who stepped in was super friendly and helpful. A polar opposite of how I was treated when I walked in.

Terrible experience with Hertz. Vehicle was not clean. It shook and made terrible noises. The customer service representative had no interest in my issues when I returned the car.

If I could give Hertz at the Baltimore airport pick up a zero star I would. The car was filthy. It had caked on mud on the tires that was gross. Not just one tire all 4. It looked like someone took it off roading( mind you it was a sedan). The inside had all spilled sticky stuff on the center console and where you charge your phone. I will think hard about renting from Hertz again. Worst part as a travel professional I recommend Hertz to my customers. I will be taking my clients business elsewhere. Some may say this is just a minor thing but when I rent a car I expect it to look clean. I get wear and tear but this was not it. This was filth.returning the car in Providence airport was
Easy and the attendant was so
Efficient and helpful.

Rented a small SUV at Providence. As a Gold member we walked right to the car and found we had an automatic upgrade. Plus, no charge for my partner to drive as he was already in the system. We didn't even have to show his drivers license. Hertz costs a little more upfront, but probably equals out in the end and the peace of mind knowing you will get a clean, working vehicle is priceess.

This Hertz location apparently suffers from chronic inventory shortages, judging by various reviews here and my own experience.
I arrived at 1700 on a Thursday. I am a Presidents Circle Member, but when I arrived, no Hertz members had reserved vehicles available. Forced now wait for 15-20 min to speak to customer service, we were informed that the options were pickup trucks or EVs, though I had reserved a sedan months in advance. Staff was unaccommodating and lamented that “there was no inventory” beyond EVs or a Dodge Ram and that they “didn’t have the staff” to check in various regular sized sedans or SUVs that were sitting in the reserved lot, but somehow not ready for customers with reservations. I would advise using any other of the 7 rental options available at T.F. Green, as this location has many negative reviews about poor inventory. Clearly management over books and then tries to force EVs on customers (because everyone wants to find charging stations while traveling in an unfamiliar area) and subsequently tries to gaslight in review responses about “incidental low inventory” or “maintenance” issues. Look elsewhere, they will not take care of you here, even if you are President’s Circle like I was.

Hertz Car Rental was conveniently located at the airport. Hertz staff made picking the car a breeze. The car is a 2025 Buick small SUV which is a dream to drive. I could not have picked a better car rental than Hertz. All I can say is “Hertz keep the good work”.

I prepaid and was checked in for a rental with my flight information on the reservation at this location as a presidents circle member. When I arrived to pick up my car after my flight was delayed and I arrived around 1 am the agents at the desk gave the car away to someone else that was on the same flight, apologized to them for not having their preferred car available and then lied to my face about being overbooked and having no cars available. They offered no solutions besides blaming someone else and saying “we’re overbooked, we don’t have any cars available.” They did not try to confirm our reservation or anything, just continued to repeat they had no cars available and wouldn’t do anything about it. We could see the car in the lot which was the exact car on my reservation that I had paid for months prior. Luckily we were able to secure a rental with Alamo or we would have been stranded in the middle of the night at this airport.

Paid $300 to reserve car. Highest tier Gold status. Show up and they say “sorry we never shut our reservation window and we’re overbooked by 6 people. There’s no cars”
