Had a membership here when I was a child. Place was unreasonably dirty and unsanitary.
I’m 37 now and place is still dirty and gross.
I’ll go back to LA Fitness where it’s clean

This place is awful. For the amount of money I put into the place I should have been treated a lot better. For starters, the pool is always freezing. My son who took swim lessons there was constantly shivering during lessons. I tried to enroll my son into private lessons. Forget it. “Brittany” never returns my call and you must speak with the aqua director. You would think for the price of private lessons Brittany would call you back but nope. Brittany probably doesn’t even work there by the time I finish this review because their staff turn over rate is pathetic. Directors come and go faster than you can blink. This YMCA continues to reduce there hours of operation. They claim it’s again due to lack of staff. Unless you’re low income you will be paying $100 dollars a month for an establishment that’s only open during business hours (7am-6pm). Now let’s get into their childcare. They kicked my son out of childcare because he has a developmental delay. They looked me in the eyes and stated “we just can’t handle him”. My son was devastated. Remind you I paid $250 a week for childcare on top of my monthly membership fee. It didn’t matter. When I asked to speak to the director of childcare I was told “sorry he no longer works here and the position is vacant”. Color me shocked.

My six yo. has been taking swim lessons at the Kent County facility for a few months now. For a 30 minute lesson he's actually in the pool for around 8 minutes. It's disappointing to say the least. At this rate he should be a good swimmer around the age of 30.

The Sunday crew likes to leave early and the woman that works this day is extremely rude. They will turn the lights off and bark at you that they “are out” 5 minutes before the gym is supposed to close. Very unprofessional to turn the lights off while members are still in the gym and trying to get in the last few minutes of their work out, especially considering the price of memberships.

Not a member, but my kickball league rents space once a week and the place is nice and the people friendly. Plenty of parking and easy in and out. Some unmarked speed bumps on way in, so don't speed.

Very loud gym but I liked the sauna a lot, Will probably be back for the heated pool. Building itself was pretty.

This YMCA isn’t just a place I workout at, it’s a welcoming community I look forward to visiting regularly. Staff are helpful, well informed and they always greet you with a wonderful smile. Dominic especially has a kindness that people gravitate to.
It’s a busy center with the kids area filled, swimming meets; outdoor park; an indoor and outdoor basketball court, and many group classes. There’s always a knowledgeable trainers on the floor ready to assist and answer questions.
The facilities are clean and well kept. It’s a very old building but well maintain.
As a Y member originally from Mass whose used my Universal access in several states, my 19 y/old son and I are happy to call Kent our home.

Welcome to the YMCA, where open gymnasium actually means it’s booked. Countless times I’ve come to play basketball because the schedule says open gym and the gym gets taken over by activities that could easily be done in one of the other open rooms.Don’t come here and actually expect any of the schedules are correct.

Most the people that work here are very racist, very rude when asked questions about programs and if you are foreign or a person of color they are watching you constantly with their racist look. And the kids that watch the children in the afterschool care program are violent with the children so be careful of your children in this place also.
