McDermott Pool is considered a Warwick gem and probably the nicest pool in the area. It is an Olympic-size pool that is super clean, very spacious, warm, and non-crowded. It has designated swim lanes and workout space. The low cost to join or come as a guest makes it a great value. Safety is noted with multiple lifeguards on duty, and the staff is described as VERY friendly. Some reviewers wish the facility was more up to date. A notable inconvenience is that it is cash only, not accepting credit cards for memberships. The pool's layout has a limitation: the general open swimming area only goes to five feet deep, with the deeper ten-foot section reserved for lap swimmers. Some locker rooms are noted as not safe. A specific policy concern involves children; teens looking to exercise are restricted during adult hours, and the family changing room situation can be difficult for parents with young children of the opposite sex, sometimes leading to long waits. Probably the nicest pool in the area. I wish it was more up to date though. I knocked off one start specifically because it’s cash only. I want to be able to pay with credit card, especially for a monthly membership.
