If I could give zero I would! The vehicle had an order & I thought it was due to the heat. After blasting AC and driving an hour it smells like a dead rodent! Numerous calls & texts & got nowhere!Due to family & time constraints for our 2 night visit I can’t get back to PVD. I’m told IF I go to Logan Airport they’ll swap the car. That’s a HARD NO! The company should be bringing me another car! I have pages of texts with representatives Getting no where!

Great experience renting with Payless in Providence airport. Staff was friendly upon taking the car, although I had an issue with my credit card, my bank’s fault not Payless. The lady at the counter was super patient while I was solving it on the phone. Car was brand new. I never had to use customer services. Return was super fast and smooth with someone present, even when returning on a Sunday evening at 9pm.

When I picked up the car the experience was good and the customer reps were helpful. I rent at a lot of places and not at Payless and this will be the first and the last time. I was 2 hours late, I called and let them know why (my son had NG drill duty) and they proceeded to charge me over $41 an hour and also charged more than I was originally quoted. I have not had to deal with any other company doing this.

Upon renting a Toyota Corolla, I asked for a small suv do to my mothers bad knees. The lady at the ck in counter said they had nothing. But prior to getting there I tried calling Payless car rental customer. I was on hold for over 40 min and just through the prompt system, kept getting transferred and still never got to anyone that would help. So I called enterprise rent a car, they reserved me a Ford Explorer and cheaper. So when I went back to the Providence RI airport Payless rental agent to turn the car in, the lady that accept the returns was shocked that I was told they had nothing else. I then walked over to the rental office at that point she said I could get a Chevy Traverse, which earlier that same day she said she had nothing, I said no thank you I have reservations with Enterprise. They then said I have to call customer service (keep in mind that I can not get a hold of Cust Svc) for the refund. What a shade tree car rental agency. I would not recommend them to my dying enemy. If I could give less than 1 Star I would but that isn’t an option.

Dont Rent Payless! I cant believe the scam they attempted to pull. I dropped the car off with a full tank of gas and they day my flight was leaving. I look at my credit statement and I am charged almost $300 more because they said I left the tank half full and dropped the car off a day late (even though my flight left the previous day when I actually dropped it off). There check out process is simply drop car off with keys and nothing more you have to do. Well clearly thats how they scam you and the customer support representative literally told me they had no notes or evidence that I had done so. I highly recommend paying the little extra money for a credible business.

Everything went fine till I got my final bill and saw a $27+ charge for 3 gal of gas. I filled the tank and used 3 gal. of gas before returning it. OVER $9/gal for gas is a rip-off! To keep customers you have to give a little not extract every last penny you can..... Bad customer relations!

Very dissatisfied and disappointed with this company.. I will never rent from them again due to their unethical and borderline fraudulent behavior. I lost 600 dollars due to their refusal of service's and refusal to refund my money. I hold them totally responsible for not caring for their customers and would advise the public to not do any business with these people

The people were very friendly and helpful, the setup was convenient, and the car was wonderful ( Volkswagen rabbit, just the size I had requested.)
