I bought a motorcycle battery from them It was dead, right off the shelf. Wouldn’t give me my money back or my old battery to turn into another place. Came in during the middle of a rain storm after my wiper blade on the driver side broke. Due to the configuration I had trouble installing them. Scott, the general manager came out in the rain and helped me install my blades. I was able to get back on the road. Would highly recommend using this facility for any and all automotive problems.

Buyer beware. I learned the hard way that Advanced Auto Parts has a no return policy after 45 days. The item I was planning on returning is unopened, still as good as it was the day I purchased it and yet they would rather lose me as a customer than allow me to return the item because I was doing so after their arbitrary return date. Waste of time calling The Retail Equation for an explanation why. The rigid personality less automaton that answers the phone could only brusquely say "it's policy" and hang up on me. Carb cleaner anyone?

The staff is nice. If you call ahead to check inventory, they will hold your part at the register. They install wiper blades for free if purchased there.

My husband went in on Thursday evening and the man working there was extremely rude and not helpful at all. He has had this man wait on him before and he has been rude other times also. Probably won’t do business there again.

The manager seemed to be having a bad day... but I don't need to be the brunt of that bad day. He was rude to my spouse... I get it, he must of had a bad day. But I am no longer a customer. Peace.

5 stars only because of Chris. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. More than once I had automotive problems that multiple stores gave me wrong advice, and advised me to buy the wrong part. Stopped in to see Chris, and within 5 minutes left with the right part and the right advice. Now I ask Chris first on almost everything. Saves me time and money. Without Chris I would rate 3 stars. With Chis Advanced is the only place I go.

It will let the store know about their shortcomings and help us improve the customer experience. We hope in time you give the store another chance to provide you with the service you deserve. Thank you for choosing Advance Auto Parts.So I guess I can update this review with feedback as requested. Well there was not really any shortcomings with the store. Its just an auto parts store and now a days it seems there is one on every corner. But I have to say that the person (google says the owner) responding to the reviews has to do more to pay attention to the reviews a bit more. The biggest shortcoming is that you indicated that it is the Portsmouth location, no where did my review indicate it was a review for the Portsmouth store and Google did not indicate it either. I doubt a bot would have even got this wrong, so if it really is the owner of Advance Auto Parts I will probably need to shop at a different auto parts store because the owner of a business should pay more attention to detail. So there are the shortcomings and I would say you should report it to the corporate, not the Portsmouth store leadership team. By the way a 3 star review in my opinion is average not outstanding nor poor. The store had what I needed and that was it.
