Can be a great place to find cool things, but whoever is pricing your "expensive" section does not know what they are doing, and need to be in a different position. "Lularoe" and "Ivory Ella" is not in style anymore, nobody wants it you need to put in on the dollar rack or it will never sell. $10 is outrageous. It's crowding the high-end section. JCPenney brands are not high end either. Save the higher prices for legit expensive things, I can get the same brands new at Marshall's for cheaper. Then again, maybe this is a good thing, because a lot of nice stuff slips through the cracks and I don't have to get gouged for it.

The Johnnycake center used to be a joy to visit. The vast selection of reasonably priced clothing. It seems that they are marking up alot more of the clothing now according to name brand.Don't follow in Goodwills' footstepsfootsteps

Jonnycake has just about everything you could name. Shoes, furniture, clothes, jewelry, books, music, housewares, games, etc. I was throwing a big 50th birthday party for my daughter, and I found 2 big glass punch bowls with ladles that we'd hoped for. After the party I donated them back again. Staff are so friendly and helpful.

I absolutely love this place! It is a win win for our community...we find cool treasures while our dollars spent there help those in need. I have found the staff to be helpful and cordial and I don't mind waiting to get in knowing I am going to have space to move around more freely. Johnnycake's is a "good thing".

This is the 3rd time I’ve been to Johnnycake’s Thrift Store. Each time the employees never fail to be extremely rude to their customers. Asking a simple question seems to be a major inconvenience for them.Secondly, they still strictly enforce covid regulations by only allowing 30 people in the building at a time. Covid is over… why is there a limit? I don’t want to stand in line to shop around unpleasant employees when there are tons of other thrift shops I can go to.Thirdly, the prices are out of control. I don’t often buy furniture but they have cracked leather recliners for $50+, and couches from the 1970s for over $100. Their clothing prices seem to be OK but up-pricing Ann Taylor Loft, Ivory Ella, & Walmart brands is out of control. They have unmarked clothes for $1 each, but the selection is extremely scarce. Swimsuits are $4 each - “no matter how much fabric”, a worker told me. One pieces, $4. A bikini top, $4. A bikini bottom, $4. They clip matching bikinis together that are the same size but then proceed to charge you $4 per piece. How can that logically make sense? I then got scolded for asking how their pricing works for bikinis. Why clip them together if you’ll charge separately?Needless to say, they may have decent things but I won’t be wasting my gas to return. Their “mission” is to help people in need. I’m not sure anyone with a slim budget would be able to afford to come here. I do not recommend this store.

I went to the 60% off sale on June 10 and the only positive was the yard sale sign near the parking lot that led me to amazing finds that were a bargain compared to the Jonnycake Center. An even bigger plus? The clothes didn’t smell like they sat in a dumpster in the rain. But, the biggest plus was the ladies at the yard sale were kind and welcoming — something that’s severely lacking at the not—so-welcoming Jonnycake Center. From standing outside because they have a 30-ish person store limit in their gigantic building (ladies, Covid is officially over) to getting barked at by an employee to “look at the signs”because I asked a simple price question (there was no sign over this particular rack, btw), the time I wasted there was worthy of a Google review. They have outdated clothing that’s been simmering in a damp dumpster for $1 which I suppose is a bargain if you have enough vinegar to get the stench out.Or you can opt for a Chico’s shirt from 2004(the tag tells all) that is priced at $8 — it’s not retro trendy, it is old and worth maybe $1. But at least it doesn’t smell.Oops! I forgot — poor people should only wear nasty, moldy $1 clothes and eat spoiled canned food from the food bank. They don’t deserve to sport a clean, dated shirt — that’s reserved for someone who has $8 to spend on a 19 year old top (that is not a trendy vintage piece).Oh, and heads up — Walmart brands (that Walmart doesn’t even sell anymore) are not worth $8 because they have a tag on them. This is not Saks 5th Avenue — it’s a thrift store profiting wildly off of junk that people give them for free.Sure, you can find a few bargains and maybe a good book, but maybe that old $8 skirt or moldy t-shirt would be more attractive if they trained their employees not to be crabby, condescending, and rude. They talk to shoppers like they are above them.Sorry, we all don’t have loads of money, nor do we enjoy your bad attitude. There are great local yard sales in the spring/summer and some very welcoming thrift shops in the area that are a great alternative to the Jonnycake Center.

I go thrifting a lot and this is one of my favorite places I’ve ever been. Great prices. I’ve found so much cool stuff here and even found some holiday gifts this winter!
