I booked an Airbnb property of Lisa’s in Westerly, RI for a weekend getaway, and the reservation was confirmed. But she canceled on short notice claiming the property was unavailable due to repairs, and then immediately re-listed it for the same dates at a significantly higher price. This was completely dishonest, and left me scrambling to try to find a different place to stay. STAY AWAY, DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
June 14 update: Owner’s response makes no sense. I booked it for around $190/night on May 23, and they canceled it on May 28, so five days later, not the next day. I have screenshots showing they immediately re-listed it for the same dates I wanted for over $300/night. Airbnb agreed with my assessment of the situation, which is why they gave me $120 voucher to book a new place on short notice.
