The Big River Hotel & Bar, located in Big River, Saskatchewan since 1926, offers a welcoming atmosphere in the heart of the Boreal Forest. The hotel features five clean, spacious rooms, some with kitchenettes, full-sized fridges, and updated bathrooms with plush towels and new tile. Despite its age, the building is well maintained, and guests find their accommodations comfortable and pleasant. The downstairs bar is the only bar in town, known for its great selection of Canadian rock classics and a friendly, helpful staff. The bar is older but very well kept, providing a cozy environment for good times. Visitors appreciate the quiet rooms, especially those farther from the bar, and the owner’s advice on fishing makes it a good spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Overall, the Big River Hotel & Bar is a charming, well-maintained place with friendly service, making it a gem in this small town.
Good Hotel/Bar, Stayed in room one, (Quietest since further from the bar) over all was good. Despite cosmetic damages like the floor being ripped in a certain area. Owner says fishing is pretty good as-well, so not bad if you are planning on a fishing trip and you do not have a camper.
