Thank you to Tristan Holbrow at Auto Gallery Subaru for making my experience so great when purchasing a vehicle. I had planned to test drive a specific vehicle when coming to the dealership, but I realized I did not like it. Tristan then recommended a couple other vehicles to me. I ended up purchasing one of these recommended vehicles that Tristan recommended to me. Thanks to Tristan, he found me a vehicle that I really liked! Do NOT go here for service - they will break things on your car, blame previous shops for their mistakes, and then charge you to fix it.

As someone who works in the automotive industry I am absolutely disgusted with their customer service. My partner bought a 22 WRX brand new off the lot 2 years ago, in those two years it’s been in shop for total of 6 months (deer collision few months back and now transmission and clutch work). He works on the road as well so probably add another 4-6 months of it sitting since being bought. He’s only put on 18 000km and we’re being told his transmission went and it won’t be covered under warranty because the vehicle has been quote “abused” and in their words “shifting too fast.” When we asked for results and proof they said we’d need to contact Subaru Canada for that. Prior to being told its the Transmission we had it towed over to auto gallery and it sat for a whole month without being touch but yet they knew the problem based on looking at it with the bare eye? it wasn’t until I told them I work in the industry as well and their service manager started stuttering stating how they haven’t brought in the vehicle yet for a proper diagnostic. We were told we’d have an update within the week, two weeks went by no answer, called multiple times but the service manager was either sick, not around or that the vehicle hadn’t even been brought in yet. Once we got the update the said it would cost $15k to repair for the transmission alone and offered no negation for warranty, their suggestion for paying it? Get a loan they said. They also said to call the head manager at Subaru Canada because he’s the one who decided it was not covered under warranty based on the results. Called Subaru Canada asking for the head manager and they stated they don’t have one and are confused as to why the service manager at auto gallery would refer us to him when he doesn’t exist. Fast forward to going on three months now of the vehicle sitting there my partner is back on the road for work and they reach out to me demanding their payment for the diagnostic and that they aren’t able to get through to my partner. I stated he works out of province for weeks at time and is hard to get ahold of, there was no leniency, their service manager cut me off and suggest I pay for it out of my pocket in which I responded no (I’m not even on the loan this vehicle has no attachment to me, they just wanted me to pay because it’s my partners vehicle and he’s not here to do it) The vehicle is there, they have the key, we’ll pay when my partner is back or when we get it towed away (whichever comes first).
Started calling around other shops asking to price out repairs and every place I’ve talked to even says this seems scummy on auto gallery’s end. Other places have given us half the price of Subarus quote to fix everything brand new. Once this vehicle is towed away I am hoping we’ll never have to deal with this dealership again for the remainder of the loan?
