“Did you ever buy a pair of shoes and then just after the return period you wished that you’d never bought them? Well, I bought a pair of brown Keen Oxfords, thinking that I would like to try a different colour of shoe. I quickly regretted my purchase, but not quick enough to return.
So I decided that I was going to try and dye my shoes black. I did some reading on the Internet and watched a few videos on YouTube, and gained just enough knowledge to go ahead and try.
I was going to order the shoe dye from Amazon, but the shipping costs were too high. So I looked online and found Clark’s, where are the price of the dye was cheaper than Amazon before the shipping cost. Not only did they sell the shoe dye that I was looking for, but, when I went to purchase the dye, the gentleman working there offered some very sage advice.
Not only did I dye my shoes, but I managed to keep the very low viscosity shoe dye off of everything but the shoes thanks directly to the advice that the gentleman gave me.
Having just completed the dye job, and yet to try to polish them, the shoes actually look OK. They look much better than the brown color, and I am very hopeful that when they are polished, they will look nice.
Again, thanks to the gentleman at Clarks, where he suggested that I use a cream style of dye as opposed to the wax base that I had at home, I feel like these shoes will be something that I will be happy wearing in public.
