I remember this place from high school although I miss being able to go inside and shop around to all the stores with my coat off.

At the date of this post the rebuild of the Golden Mile is proceeding but is far from being complete so any reasonable assessment is premature. I will update this at a more appropriate point.
EDIT:
6 years on and the place is complete. As it stands, it is another mall with a large grocery store. Enough parking on a lot that was repaved so good. Is it enough to re-evaluate? Well Ok as far as it went, the overall experience is fine, the place as a physical location is what I expected, the prices on food? well, same high prices as everywhere else.
Upshot is no improvement overall, a maintained place instead of an improved one. Same rating 3 stars.

It's Walmart, you know what to expect. You either love it or hate it, my review isn't going to change your mind

Very clean, updated inside with lots of seating between shops and play area and play items for kids. Nice food costs with several choices available.

Get that door fixed! Not sure what's more frustrating, a useless hallway with no stores and a broken door that makes everyone have to walk around the whole outside of this worthless mall, or glorified hallway monitors that have an attitude all the time or act like they don't want to be thereTired of watching a bunch of people struggle, such as older and disabled people in cold temperatures walking around your building because you can't get someone to come in and fix that door.On top of that I had one of you security get angry at me for asking to slip outside of the building while your broken door was opened. She was blaming us for the door still being broken? Maybe get it fixed NOW and you won't have that problem.Your mall barely has any stores, that hallway that goes through the east and west exit has nothing in it for store locations, so what's even the point of locking it and getting irate at us for going in when it's already wedged open.I've lost all respect for your "Smart" Centre and pathetic excuse of a mall. Tell your security guards to not get angry at us for your shortcomings.

I've been using the mall for close to 30 years and worked in it for close to 5 years and I can honestly say Smart Centers care nothing about maintenance when it comes to the mall. Last year one of the handles of the door broke off and it took them over 6 months to fix it. It broke again and took a couple of months to fix again. Now the entrance on the east side, where the buses are is broke and they seem to be making absolutely no effort to fix it. It's been over a month and still nothing. People are getting fed up. Everyday people are walking past the barrier set up and opening the door. Not to mention vandals are kicking holes in the walls and they aren't fixing them or even hiring more security to stop it. There was a time when they hired more security and things were getting better, then the door "broke", so they don't need to pay for extra security anymore. I also agree with another reviewer about snow removal. The city cleans the sidewalk where the buses are, but the mall refuses to clear a path most times from the mall to the buses. If you are thinking of stating a business in the mall, I'd advise you to look elsewhere. Smart Centers will take your money, but give you nothing in return. In the five years I've worked in the mall, more of the things they used to do for us are now our responsibility.

I gave up driving a month ago and rely on transit. I am delighted to learn that the entrances from Rae St to the eastern entrance near Superstore and Dollarama are open. So handy for a transit user! Also you have a warm interior and a bench where one can rest a bit before tackling the stores or the bus. Very pleased. Thank you!

Clean and well stocked, the kiosks at the front are a little weird but thankfully no one comes out trying to sell you something. Overall as pleasant as a grocery store ever is, but well stocked for whatever it is that you're looking for.
