We really enjoyed the trail period it sheltered nicely along the lake with the woods . Unfortunately, I got caught in a rainstorm, but there's a shelter approximately halfway around the lake that looks up into the Buffalo enclosure. It's good to get out of the rain, wind, or sun.Trail is great for children and dogs (on leases for the dogs or children if they are like mine, lol)Trail has some upside and downs or for people with mild to moderate joint arthritis. However, mostly , about 90%

A beautiful area to explore. Trails are well maintained and Bison are usually within eyeshot. Do NOT follow directions from Google maps as it may route you across roads that do not exist!

There is an extraordinary silence and peace there.Actually we decided to walk from our campground to the Nicolle flats but the trail was not suitable for walking because it was not paved and the cars could pass in high speed beside us. We found it not safe.We decided to go back to the campground and next day we drove there and went for a great walk.

This is my favourite place at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park. Great place for hiking or just sitting outside with a good book. Lots of birds in this area too.

An immersive, nature-rich escape that refreshes the mind and gives the soul a breath of fresh air. A welcome relief from the city, Nicolle Flats is a wildlife haven. Look for Yellowheaded Blackbirds who sing "purple-pin!", chipmunks, moose, muskrats, swallows and a multitude of other amazing creatures.Enjoy the long "boardwalk" out over the water, and sit and relax, or hike along the easy-to-moderate hiking trail.Remember to leave only footprints and take away only memories.
