This is a great highway stop. We enjoyed learning about the local history of Whitewood, including about New Finland settlers as we have Finnish roots. Very nice picnic tables for our lunch too! Thank you Whitewood Historical Museum!

What a nice little museum! It was only a short way off the main highway and had a lot of neat antiques labeled nicely and you were able to look at them up close. Kids enjoyed doing the scavenger hunt. What a delight!

I have always loved our local museum as it is filled to the brim with local history. I have been visiting it since I was young on school trips or attending the many activities the staff plan throughout the summer. The staff are amazing and very helpful for those traveling. The museum is the tourist booth as the one along the highway was torn down. There is a walking tour for those interested in the old buildings around town and their history.

Drove all the way from eastern Manitoba to see the museum as some of my grandfathers stuff is in it. The website said open, got here and there was a sign saying “sorry closed for the remainder of the year”. Should update website !!!

This was a great experience. the folks in Whitewood went out of their way to get us into the buildings. The variety and diversity of the displays is amazing.
