I’ve been with Scotiabank for 18 years and had great experiences with the Brandon location. Last week I went and asked what the best method of payment was for a private sale on a vehicle. They said bank draft. I asked the purchaser to pay with one and when I went to cash it to purchase my replacement vehicle they put a 5 day hold on it and said it’s policy. I then asked cibc in yorkton who printed the bank draft I cashed if they provided proof of funds could they (Scotiabank) release the hold. He confirmed that they can. Scotia bank put me on hold for over 2 hours with a call center to send me to a branch managers voice mail. Which never called me back.
I have since lost out on the vehicle I was attempting to purchase as a result and am now looking for another. It took me 7 months to find the last one. The inability to talk to an actual person at a small town bank is ridiculous. Not only am I pulling my entire financial portfolio but my wife won’t be adding hers to this disaster of a banks care either.
This entire place is a joke from the tellers to the back office. Please don’t do yourself the disservice of giving your finances over to a bunch of third string financial advisors.

This bank has new employees every week and the few that do stick around for a bit do not know anything. After getting a new debit card they ended up erasing our business account, all payees, and all bank statement history. I have now switched to rbc however still trying to close my Scotia account which has been a month now because know one will answer phone calls or emails. Do not go to this bank.

Service is poor ,steady stream of new staff always training why can the Yorkton branch not keep employees?? Would give a 1 for service .

Terrible bank with terrible service. Unrealistic hours. Paid 12.50 service charge for a stop payment on an auto loan, and wouldn't you know it... Payment came out, regardless. Thanks, Yorkton branch for being so consistent with your shoddy work.Edit: Went back to address this and the "manager" told me they cannot stop payments. It is not something the bank can do, despite my having a receipt for a stop-payment and a service charge gone through...This branch needs to be internally audited and shut down. It is damaging to the brand.

Made an appointment for 10am. Drove 20 minutes to get there. Bank was not open. Why book an appointment not within business hours. I'll take my business elsewhere.

This scotia branch is garbage , I have a small business account , but is going to RBC . They are unresponsive and haven't got a clue what it takes to help people , never open, short staffed. I agree a minus 5 would be the best they can get. Absolutely ridiculous.

Transferred my last money from one account to another to cover a payment without my consent. Good job guys, glad you care if people eat. Then, can't get ahold of anyone unless you go in. Never again will I deal with this garbage bank

Yorkton Scotiabank hours are terrible because people who are working until 5 or 6 PM. If someone like me who needs change ( $ 1.00 & $0.25 packs ) to wash there laundry. Those who live in apartment building. ( two Thumbs down?? ).

I have been going to this bank for almost three years now, around 2-4 times per week. I have noticed a lot of turn-around for tellers, but the two tellers that have just recently started I feel are really great and catching on super quickly.I am, however frustrated with the new hours- only being open until 3pm everyday. It is getting harder to get to the bank on time, and I find I am typically waiting in line for 15-20 minutes, when the claim on the hours being shortened is to reduce congestion in the branch because of covid.Most other banks have figured out that they need to accomodate and have longer banking hours, so I am unsure as to why the branch has to have such shortened hours.

If i could give this branch location negative 5 I would. I've been with this bank about 10 years. Yes I am in the process of switching. They don't call back if you leave a message. I literally tried about 5 times in a month with my financial advisor and nothing. I called to book an appt in branch with someone else and they directed me to some other country outsource that I waited on hold half hr for, then refused to book the appt because I didn't have my bank card on me and asked if they couldn't do it by my name and id bring everything in. What if I was a new client and didn't have a card? Ridiculous. If your thinking of using Scotiabank- don't. If your with them. Good luck
