All I can say is YIKES! Publix is way too expensive so I thought I'd try Food Lion. Holy frijoles. I will pay the higher price and get fewer items or just go to Walmart. Save me please Trader Joes! With the increase numbers of people moving to the area you'd think some decent grocery stores would be a thing.

I went to food lion on Sam's Point about a week ago and hadn't gone grocery shopping in about a month so I needed to get a lot of items. I spent about an hour and a half shopping for my things and the time was about 7:15pm. I went to the check out and the cashier, kenadi, was horribly rude to me. She rolled her eyes at me when I walked up to cash out. She verbalized how she won't be getting out of there any time soon to her coworkers. I checked the hours and google states, food lion is open until 11pm. If that has changed, then they should update their hours of operation online. Anyways, she never said one word to me the whole time, but had a full blown conversation with her coworkers about how she is going to go get tattoos. I have tattoos and I can relate to what she was talking about but definitely not an appropriate conversation to have in front of a customer. This has been the worst experience I have ever had grocery shopping and I will definitely spend the extra dollar going to Publix from now on.

Today: I spent an hour filling up my cart with my shopping list items. I left the cart parked for a couple of minutes unattended to run back to get a gallon of milk. When I returned, my CART WAS GONE! I searched the store for nearly 10 minutes, now thinking I was losing it. Who'd want my cart full of items. After asking an employee stocking shelves, she took me up to the front of the store on the other side of the checkout lanes where there sat my cart. I have never been so pissed off in my life. Who the hell moves your cart for sitting in a isle while you're shopping. I complained to the cashier who looked at me like I had 2 heads. Then I called when I got home to talk to the Assnt Manager, the idiot who moved my cart, but he couldn't find the time to come to the phone to hear my complaint, but had enough time to move my cart to a location in the store where I couldn't find it. I WON'T BE GOING BACK TO FOOD LION ANYMORE! What a stupid thing to do to a customer. Looks like Publix is the only place I'm gonna shop now.

This Food Lion is conveniently placed across the street from Publix. I prefer to go to the store here when I'm only buying small odds and ends because it's less expensive than Publix. My biggest frustration with the store is the produce section is very small and many times I find some of the vegetables I want are spoiled. The service is great at the check out lines, but no one seems to be very enthusiastic when you ask for help. I come to this store regularly for the discounted cereals and mineral water. As for quality I would keep looking.
