bad experience I own a Volvo when I went to service my car the guy at the reception told me that my car had a problem but that there was no problem because my car has a warranty I would only pay a deductible x the bad thing I agreed to pay the deductible and he guaranteed me that the fault they found already had a solution, they made me spend a lot of money and it was not fixed and then my car was completely damaged and I returned to the Volvo Dealer in Bluffton S C and it turns out that they did not validate my warranty x that's a bad experience with Volvo

In June of 2023 I purchased a pre-owned Volvo S-90 from Volvo of Hilton Head. The sales team was professional and helpful, even assisting me with an out-of-state registration and tax forms (military). I have enjoyed the car and highly recommend Volvo, however, my recent experience with the management at this particular dealership has been disappointing. I experienced a tire blowout due to rough roads in a construction area near my home and in the process of replacing the tire, discovered that the two front tires on my car were not the appropriate size, but were instead smaller than what the car required. My 2018 S90 requires 255/30/20 tires on all four wheels, which this one had on the rear two wheels, but had 235/30/20 on the front two wheels. I did not notice this when purchasing (my fault). The tire retailer I was using to replace the damaged tire informed me that this was a safety issue and had caused an alignment issue resulting in my two rear tires wearing unevenly over the past five months—both needing immediate replacement. So, less than six months after purchasing this car (full asking price) from, what I thought was a reputable dealer, I was facing over an $1200 for new tires and an alignment because of incorrect tire size. This was confirmed by my local Volvo service department. More importantly, I was sold a car that was not outfitted with tires that met the Volvo standard directly undermining the safety features of the car. I informed Volvo Hilton Head about this situation and provided them the detailed service report from my local Volvo service center, requesting they assist in the replacement cost of the tires. This was the response I received from the sales manager over a week after sending my request and making several follow-up phone calls:“I checked with service, it looks like the car came in with those tires. I was told that that size shouldn't of affected it. I was trying to get done what I could for you but it looks like the car was sold under old ownership and old management back in June. Furthermore the car has had thousands of miles put on it since purchase.”There was no apology, and no explanation as to why his opinion that the tire size not mattering is incongruent with my local Volvo service center, a tire retailer, and a simple google search. If you choose to do business with this particular dealership, make sure you check every detail of the vehicle you are purchasing and do not expect management to stand behind their product.

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COST! I have no experience with the sales at Volvo Cars of Hilton Head, but the service department is atrocious and has convinced me to not only never buy a car from Volvo Cars of Hilton Head, but to never again buy a Volvo. I have a Certified Pre-Owned Volvo XC60 (still under warranty) and have been trying to get it fixed. The first time it was in the shop, they told me the "problem" and "fixed" it after a few days. The NEXT TIME I drove the car after bringing it home, the same sound occurred and then my AC went out completely. Within a few miles, I had smoke coming from all sides of my hood. I had it towed (rollback) to the dealership and that was 11 days ago and the car has not been moved since. I have been told that they are very busy and "may" get to it next week. That will be another 6-8 days and that's just what I'm being told to let me know what is wrong with my car. I have asked for the General Manager to call me and was told he would. I have had no call. We requested a loaner and were told there weren't any available until Thursday (today). My husband called around 11:00 (Thursday) to verify one was available and was told by Holly that there was. I arrived (by asking a friend to drive me) around 2:00 and John (Service) said that there weren't any available and he doesn't know why I was told that. I'm at a loss. I can't understand how such a poorly run dealership can even stay in business. Undoubtedly, Volvos have many issues and the service departments can't handle the load.

My wife and I just purchased our 4th Volvo Overseas Delivery (OSD) and Wayne Waggoner was absolutely fabulous. We have purchased over 12 new cars in the last three decades and Wayne and his GM, David Sigg were by far the best. They educated us and they didnt sell us as I have been in sales for 30+ years and there is a fine line between getting the sale and building up a loyal customer base. Wayne knows how to do it, he was so wonderful he even picked us up at the airport in our new car. This purchase was simple and sweet and traveling to Sweden was an extra bonus. It's really refreshing when you get to work with a team like this,

We bought a Jeep there that they shipped to us in Florida. They only sent one of the two sets of keys but oddly sent a set of Volvo keys. They as of today have still not sent the title. Going on two weeks now. Ridiculous. We can't register the car without a title. They lie.

We recently had such a great experience in purchasing a car from Volvo of Hilton Head. I really can not say enough good things but here is a synopsis.My previous Volvo was destroyed in an accident while on Hilton Head. The car did exactly what you’d expect a Volvo to do in an accident; all air bags and other safety features deployed. It saved our lives.After seeing how the car responded there was no question that the replacement would be a Volvo. We went to this business to look at new models. John Barrett assisted us and was terrific.We found a car we decided to purchase. John and the GM stayed late and came in early to meet our schedule for travel. John has been patient after the sale in answering every question I have about the car.The idea of buying a new car had never entered our minds: The Volvo we had was great. But you can never anticipate when a large truck will come out of nowhere and destroy a car that saves your life. Regardless of why you arrive at Volvo of Hilton Head, I’m certain John and the GM will help you through the process with patience and solutions.

Very poor customer care! I left with not a fully functional volvo and not even in knowing which gas grade to put in it....and no return calls when asking for help....seeking help elsewhere from people who care sbout customers. Would NEVER recommend this place. I have always received great customer service from other dealers I have purchased from, not here.

Worst service I have ever had in 40 years from any company . Background: I have a 2019 xc60 T8. Paid almost $70,000 for the car! I called because my turn signal in the front was not working and was heading out of town. William said they would squeeze it in because it was a safety issue. He got in. Unfortunately, as soon as I turned head lights on going out of town I got a low beam fault (that wasn't there before) and they would not work and the shop was now closed. Turn signal worked :). That was weds. I borrowed a car for my trip. The following Tuesday when I got back, I went to the dealership and explained the headlight was working when brought it in and now it doesn't. William said they were busy but would try to squeeze it in if I left it. Big mistake, I called end of day no one answered. Rolls to mailbox that is full. Can't leave a message. Called next day no progress. Asked when it would be done and William said he didn't know. They could only work on it in between scheduled services. When I suggested maybe they shouldn't fill out every slot incase there was an emergency he say he didn't want to talk about it anymore and I could talk to his manager. I said fine, and gave him my number for the manager to call. 2 more days have past no manager call. Called to check on status 3 times two days in a row. No one picks up, rolls to VM and of course it is full, can't leave a message. Decided to come to the dealership today, now Friday afternoon, as it is only way to get a status. managers too busy to talk to me and the car hasn't even been looked at even though it has now been here 4 days! Planning on sitting here till end of day since I have no car to drive to see if they get it done. Will probably be without it for the weekend and this will go into next week without a loaner car of course.Thinking of calling Charleston dealership 2 hours away to see if I can get it in on Monday. There service ratings are much higher.

Never owned a Volvo, considering buying a used one. I had a question about service called here and WILLIAM IN SERVICE is AWESOME! He answered any question I had without a problem. I wouldn't hesitate to drive 3.5 hours for service here.

This review is for the service department, specifically William. Will truly went above and beyond to help me out when I was in the area on vacation and got a nail in my tire. Not only was his customer service top notch, he was an genuinely nice guy. I really appreciated his help and overall I had a fantastic experience at this Volvo dealer. Really O stars!!!! One month for an appointment, then charged with a diagnostic fee and William said it would take another month to start work. After bringing car in for work in the 2nd month, was told by William the mechanic called in sick that day and to schedule another appointment but would have to wait one more month. Found another Volvo mechanic elsewhere who said original diagnosis was wrong. Truely unprofessional and awful experience!!!! Really theft is a better description. I called William and told them I was posting this review to provide them opportunity to refund fee but they didn't care even though they admitted my description of events was accurate.Be warned!
