While I love the location & all the amenities that come with this apartment, it also comes with some major downsides. The floor/ceiling on the different levels is so thin my upstairs neighbors sound like elephants are walking around up there. I can hear their tv on constantly. The trash pick up guys are absolutely awful. If I could I would opt out of this service. Not only do they park in the middle of the parking lot blocking you from driving down the road but they also throw the trash bags from the third floor over the balcony to the ground sometimes without looking to see if someone is below. I've been standing outside & almost got hit with a garbage back more than once. The garbage bags bust & they don't pick up what's left behind. There is animal feces all over the front of the apartment buildings grass but no dog feces bag stations are on the front lawn & it's not enforced to make dog owners pick up their dogs mess. Not cool when you have children that walk through & play in the same grass. The volleyball court is covered in debris so anytime you want to use it, you have to clean it yourself. There are few shade options at the pool near the main office so if the 2 tables with umbrellas are gone then you're out of luck. There aren't enough parking spots in front of the buildings so if you don't get a parking spot by 4pm you'll be walking a good ways to get to your apartment. Pest control is something we pay monthly for & I've lived there for 2 years now, apparently they only come when I complain. My washer & dryer has had major issues since I moved in. After a month of complaining about the dryer I finally received a new one. Now my washer is leaking & flooding the apartment. It's been a week & with a house of 4 people who all do extracurricular activities that's a lot of clothes that need to be washed. However I've been unable to do so for fear my apartment will flood again. When it did flood all that was done was a shop vac was brought out to suck up the water. They didn't bother to put out any damp rid or get the water out of the carpets since it leaked into the hallway, 3 bedrooms, my living room rug. There's also NO Parking signs on the storage units but that doesn't stop people from parking in front of them which blocks in people that used the parking lot correctly. The office staff does nothing to enforce people from parking there. Other apartments I've lived at have you pay $3 for a tag so you have an assigned parking spot & if you don't have a tag you get towed. Why can't we have something similar here? Would make the whole parking situation a lot easier. Not sure how other apartments look inside but there is mold in both my bathrooms, something brown dripping down the walls in the bathrooms, and all my vents have black mold around them. I’ve mentioned this to the front office several times & nothing has been done. This apartment is described as having hard wood floors, it’s linoleum that looks like wood. It’s also described as having “sleek stainless steel appliances” the fridge is a $500 GE fridge from Home Depot that’s white, the stove is a Old GE electric stove 2295, the dishwasher looks like it’s from the 1980’s era, and washer & dryer are low end whirlpool appliances. The nicest thing about living here is the nature path behind the building that's set up for disc golf. At least it was until they started building more & tearing it up. You're also close to town & it's convenient.Update: Maintenance came into my apartment, while I was in the shower. They didn’t knock or ring the doorbell. They shut off my water while I was in the shower!! I came out to find a strange man in my pantry. I was terrified & nude!! All the office said was they would “reprimand him”.

Literally trash place the maintenance office never comes to fix if something is broken. I advise NOT TO RENT IN THIS APARTMENTS.

Moved in about a month ago. Dryer has broken twice. We were told during our tour of the place by Shelby, “maintenance usually comes the same day or the next day if there is any maintenance issues.” This is terribly incorrect. They have not came in a week for our broken dryer. We have had to take clothes to other peoples houses to get some kind of laundry done. I have called multiple times and they don’t respond nor answer. I have put in multiple maintenance requests with nothing. Point is, don’t believe what they tell you. We pay to live here, yet cant even have clean clothes. After reading other reviews, seems like the company that bought this place doesn't know how to run it.

Also there is only 1 handicapped parking lot for the entire subdivision in front of Apt 103 but no where else. These apartments aren't handicapped accessible for handicapped vans or people in wheelchairs unless you're on the bottom floor on the back of apartment 103. There's also NO Parking signs on the storage units but that doesn't stop people from parking in front of them which blocks in people that used the parking lot correctly. Especially since they're going up on rent for the 3rd time in 2 years that I've been here!Update: Maintenance came into my apartment, while I was in the shower. We have lived at the Whitley since 2/2021 till 5/2023. The staff (Marci, Shelby, Gracen, and Bret) were helpful and friendly. They have helped us with bills, maintenance, and concerns. Thanks Whitley for the help!

We were trying to find an apartment from them. We paid $253 to start the process. Then they provided us an apartment with AC vent as photo below. Every vent has mold on it. When you see mold on vent, you may expect that mold is everywhere inside the AC system; and that is a big health concern. We talked with them about it. They didn’t fix it and refused to provide other apartment. So that is the end, waste $253.

Best apartment complex property management round Clemson area if you are not all students. Very well suited for families

It was ok. There are roaches everywhere and the place could use some clean up. Trash is literally all over the complex. So hard to get in contact with office/maintenance. Took them forever to fix my broken door. I felt unsafe having my door broken and they took weeks to fix it

I have been a resident for over two years, but this will be my last. The new management has been my worst experience in over 4 different apartment complexes in the Clemson, Central area. I would have put one star for how bad the complex is becoming, but the first year living was very pleasant. The trash service is now extremely inconsistent. There are parties of roaches every night as you walk to your door. The resident portal online was down for months, making it extremely difficult to pay rent. I was told that the portal would be down and fixed within two weeks and this was the first huge lie of many to come. Communication with management and resident services made me feel like it was the stone age where they would only respond if you went to talk in person. It took over 3 weeks for a light fixture to be replaced. The hot water heater only lasts for up to 15 minutes. And to add a cherry on top of all this misery is that fact that rent increased $100 per month. What a joke. Cannot wait to find another living space. All they care about here is taking your money.

Moved in late 2019, its been very good (5 star generally) until the new property group bought out Greystar, 4 months ago, noticeable decline (now 2-3 star). Dumpster areas are frequently disgusting, trash everywhere, resident portal has been offline for 3 months, and now "working" except I cant get a working login, 3 man maintenance were replaced, with 2, now there is 1 and phoned in requests have taken up to 3 WEEKS , 'concierge' trash service now drops bags off stairs instead of carrying, leading to mess at the bottom. Now the sound of construction is evident all day as new apartments are going to be built on what was once a large tree'd area, glad i dont work nights. Now rents are increasing S100....for worse service. Even the phone numbers in the remodeled website are disconnected.

In late May/Junt 2022, The Whitley changed management. I have been completely unimpressed with the new management; I am moving/transferring for work, and I have had so much additional stress added to my plate because of The Whitley's new Management's poor communication skills. 1) rent was due in June NOT online, and their method of communication was sliding a piece of paper into my door not even a week before payment was due. 2) my new apartment required verification I have terminated my lease with The Whitley early, and it took over a month and multiple emails to finally get any response/confirmation from The Whitley. 3) the transition to the new management for the residents has been anything but smooth.Original review from April/early May 2022: I have loved at here for 5 months now, and it is wonderful. There is a disc golf course behind my apartment and a little trail in front of my apartment, both are great for walking my dog on or off leash. Maintenance and management are super responsive and helpful! The only complaint I have is that the trash valet is supposed to pick up Sunday-Thursday nights, but lately there have been consecutive times the valet doesn't collect the trash. Management says that the valet is on vacation, so there is a valid reason for it. The community is nice and quiet. My apartment is close to the pool, grills, and tennis court, and even when the community is using the amenities, it is still quiet and respectful! I have loved living here.

They used to be good. Ever since they got bought out, maintenance requests have taken longer. They don't go around picking up the litter like they used to. Don't tell you when packages arrive anymore.

Some apartments are very nice, others are still awaiting an upgrade. Residents can do better to clean up their dog waste. Kitchen cabinets are archaic and drawers are held together with glue in non-upgraded units.Difficult to find the right manager to get an answer to a question (i.e. They are on vacation, no, that's someone else's project, this is there day off, etc.)Maintenance crew including Cory and Brett are awesome!
