OMG IM OBSESSED WITH THIS PLACE. So fun and different. They have a great menu with lots of healthy options. We ate outside on their adorable patio and it was just perfect. Such nice weather and a great atmosphere. The basic bowl is to die for. I could eat it everyday. Their menu is generally healthy but it’s good healthy food that actually keeps you full and makes you feel nourished and fulfilled.Dietary restrictions: Lots of overall healthy options. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options.

Basic Kitchen is a nice place for brunch. Their food was fresh, hot and delicious. They have great service and can accommodate your dog with seating in a courtyard. They also can accommodate gluten free allergies. We will be back the next time we are in Charleston.

Held my daughter’s surprise bridal shower here yesterday. I cannot say enough good things about Basic Kitchen. From the reservation to the food and service, it was 5 stars all around. Get the GF banana bread!!! But everything was sooooo good. Thanks to Charlotte and the wait staff for your kind and amazing service on our special day!

We stopped in here for lunch on the recommendation of the valet at our hotel, and it was such a treat!! They were very accommodating, even without a reservation. Our party had both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, and everyone enjoyed it. The sweet potato fries were AMAZING!!!

We had such a great family dinner out at Basic Kitchen! We have a family member with a dairy allergy and several others that avoid dairy. Everyone was able to get what they wanted and the food was so good!! Thank you Basic Kitchen for a wonderful dinner!

Basic Kitchen is a modern restaurant with modern takes on food and your food needs. They are willing and ready to accommodate whatever your needs are and do a great job of it.Basic kitchen is also lighter fare and unless you order a large variety of items you won't leave being unable to walk. Which isn't a bad thing but portions are definitely controlled well.Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, some appetizer meatballs, pesto pasta and a veggie burger. All made to perfection and delightful to our taste buds.Staff was kind, service was solid and the whole experience was pleasant.

For vegan devotees, this is a good place to go. Cauliflower is a major item and is tasty and well done. Our service was attentive and very pleasant. The only real complaint was the ceiling fan running at high speed to keep the humidity down. I think the speed was reduced at our request, but it was still a bit chilly.Parking: Just off King Street made parking iffy. I picked out. There are nearby paid parking lots.

The staff was so accommodating! We went on a busy Saturday night without a reservation and they squeezed us in! They were so polite and happy to have us. Their food is healthy which is nice coven lots of Charleston food is heavy. Highly recommend the cauliflower wings!Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu and happy to accommodate kids!

Food was great. Though my only concern is the honey being served "runny" like water. I was told it's honey mixed with water added which I have never heard of especially being in the southern area. Honey should not be runny or watery when served as a side for the tea. Hopefully there can be some changes to bring out real honey and not mix it with anything other than water on the side for the tea or coffees.
