I paid $54 plus tip for two glasses of wine and had to drink them out of a plastic translucent cup while I waited for a table in the lobby. Is Chalk Hill wine worth $27 a plastic cupful? When we were seated and looked at the wine menu there were plenty of wines $15 to $18 a glass. The bartender decided to upgrade me I guess. I wouldn’t have cared about the price but in a plastic cup? I always thought Charleston Place had more class. I say this as a local who likes to spend money downtown.

To who it may concern,
We had a great check in with Anna yesterday and secured a room on the 8th floor but from there it has been down hill.
We put our name on the list for the Thoroughbred bar to listen to the entertainment 🎶 and eat dinner.
We decided to get a drink and appetizer 🍸 at the bar next to the Thoroughbred bar and it was a train wreck from there.
We were some of the only people in the bar and ordered drinks that were put in wrong and deliver over 15 minutes later and our food order was never put in and 45 minutes asked where the food was and the server said she would check but never put the Oysters order in.
Unfortunately, the Oysters were fair at best delivered over an hour later and it took us another 20 minutes to get our check which caused us to be late for our Thoroughbred reservation. Very very poor service and no accountability or apology.
Anyway, the delay caused us to be late for our Thoroughbred table and once we checked in and we're told our table was given away and there would be a 45 minute wait.
At this point we were hungry and agitated and decided to go to the Sports Bar in the Charleston Place and ordered wings and crab dip. The wings were dry, over cooked and the bar tenders seemed upset and must have had an argument because there was tension in the air and the service represented that mood.
Our experience for our Anniversary is not good so far and we are considering looking into other hotel options. 😕😕
In closing, we are here for the Healthcare conference but looking into other accommodations today. There is little value here with poor service and inconsistent food ... The only consolation so far has been Anna at check in.
Unhappy Guest,
Scott and Kelly

If you are visiting this year for the Christmas festivities associated with this place many have been moved to the American gardens a few blocks closer to broad accessible by king or meeting. I've never actually stayed at this hotel, and would be willing to give a 5 star rating if they reopen all the bathrooms to the public as well as the shoe shining chair. I've included some pictures of the Christmas festivities (please note the tree lighting one is for the American gardens).

The finest hotel I’ve stayed at in recent memory. The staff, location, facilities, bars. All exactly what they should be.

Although we did not check into this hotel, we did walk-through as part of our downtown experience. Absolutely beautiful hotel. Good parking. Would love to check in at some time.

The hotel's private driver is an elderly man with a black car; he is very unpleasant and rude
