Big disappointment for a 3 star hotel. Get ready to pay parking and have them tell you "Self parking " isn't considered paying parking ? no microwaves, coffee pot was missing main part. The whole thing was set up for the guest to pay pay pay. The front desk clerk couldn't barely speak English. The customer service after the stay was no help at all. Actually made it worse by giving the condensing email reply of excuses and blame game of the third party. You're just not in good hands at this hotel. Get ready to pay from the minuplation of using their restaurant, their coffee shop, and hidden fees

Love this place. However I will not be returning until the rooms are redone. I cannot stay in a place where the carpets are musty and stained. Other than that, l would say everything else is great, lobby is nice, location is walking distance from everything, etc.

beautiful hotel! Very clean, updated. Staff is top notch and the restaurant has wonderful food! I'd go back just for the pasta even if I wasn't staying as a guest !!

First time visiting Charleston which was a great experience, super friendly people but as for this hotel, pillows smelled like cigarettes, we had a storm come through on December 17th 2023 and had a power outage in which no one from the hotel came to check on us, the flame was flooded outside the courtyard and we asked for towel’s at the front desk which they provided to only have them taken back from their shuttle bus driver and service man, my Fiancé, son and I rolled up our jeans as we refused to stay there and walked through 2 feet of water to only look back at the Marriott’s workers take video and pictures of us laughing, this was a horrible experience and the only inhumane interaction we had, hospitality was horrible and embarrassing!Rooms: Pillows smells smell like cigarettes

Very noisy and the rooms needs updating. There was a huge party with screaming and laughter at the top of their lungs that was by the outdoor pool at 12:30AM, and we heard it from our room on the 14th floor. When I was checking out and commented on the noise that kept us awake, they asked if I called the front desk. No we didn't call, so case closed. But I would have expected the night staff to address the issue. If we could hear it from the 14th floor, they certainly would’ve heard it in the lobby. Everyone was talking about the noise at breakfast. You can also hear your neighbors speaking to each other. If you want a good nights sleep this is not the hotel to stay at.

Here for work function. The service was great. The food was very good. The room was fine but dated. The courtyard was a relaxing place to socialize. I would stay here again.

I booked my room 6 weeks prior to a business trip. I had a reservation with a confirmation number. I even got an email about 4 days prior as a pre check in asking if I wanted daily room service, etc. When I got there to check in the front desk staff told me I did not have a reservation because my card was expired. I explained I had a confirmation, showed them the email, etc. Literally no one cared. I was told I had to book in now AND I was told I could not do it in person…I had to go online and do it on my device. This made no sense to me and no one could explain to my really why I had to book it this way. I did book it using my phone. The rate was much highly then what I was expecting given I had booked it weeks in advance. No one cared, no one could offer any explanation. The front desk staff was clueless, not friendly and basically could not have cared less. Very bad experience. Will not go back.

This hotel is great!!! Self-parking was easy and abundant. We always found a parking spot. All staff I interacted with (housekeeping, front desk, bartenders) were great. Hotel looked and smelled clean. Beds were VERY comfortable. 5-stars just for the beds, honestly!!! Room was surprisingly quiet... none of the noises you usually hear in a hotel. The AC system was also very nice. (Not that typical window unit you often find in hotels that have the freezing-then-hot sleeping experience!) Only con was no microwave in the room. Other than that, perfect!

Room carpets need to be replaced. The room had a musty smell. The amenities are good and most staff are pleasant. The day shift manager at the front desk was pretty rude. I will go to a different hotel on my next trip.

Great location just off Route 17 in downtown Charleston. Close to the medical district. Roof top lounge with waterfront views. Nice in-house restuarant with many choices. I loved the Shrimp and Grits!Rooms: Nice rooms, well appointed. The common areas are open and inviting furnished in the classic Charelston style.

The hotel is in need of a major redo in the rooms - carpet is just gross and bathrooms are extremely old, small and just dirty. Furniture really old and the rooms are small. Executive lounge is subpar - dirty and smells. Breakfast average and snacks are m&m's and peanuts in a dispenser. Starbucks in the lobby - closed around noon every day. Staff was nice enough but the hotel is substandard for a Marriott. Would not stay there again no matter how cheap the rates are until there is a complete refresh of the hotel.

We stayed here for a night. The hotel is very large, but well kept. Our room was very clean. Parking can be valet or self. If you park self, you need to pay via an app and it is 15$ per night. I believe the valet is 20$. They also have a pool and restaurant.

This hotel has BEDBUGS!!!. Room 1120 and room 1129. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I was there for vacation last week. On the first day I got biten by bedbugs on my face and stomach. At first, I thought it was probably an allergic reaction to seafood I had that evening so I just ignored the bites even though the itchiness was unbearable. The second night both of my feet and toes were so itchy in the middle of the night, I rubbed some hand sanitizer to calm the itchiness and went back to sleep. On the third night both of my hands and wrists were so itchy it woke me up at 2:38 A.M. I went to the bathroom and decided to turn on the lights and inspect the pillows. To my surprise, I saw the BEDBUGS crawling all over my pillows on ALL OF THE PILLOWS IN BOTH BEDS. I FELT GROSSED OUT and disappointed because I always stay at MARRIOTT HOTELS when traveling for work and for vacations and this situation regarding the hotel cleanliness is unacceptable. The hotel and rooms look clean on the outside but they are obviously NOT!I went to the Publix pharmacy across the street from the hotel and the pharmacist confirm those were bites not an allergic reaction. I had to buy two creams to help with the itchiness.I am traumatized and don't want to travel anymore because of this experience. When I called the front desk at around 2:45 AM the night I saw the bugs (my third night) to report what I saw on my bed and pillows, Karen (front desk lady and another man that was also there) said they are booked and they doesn't know what to do to help at that time of the night. I got dressed and went downstairs to the front desk and showed Karen one of the dead bedbugs I killed with a napkin because I knew they wouldn't believe me. I got biten 25 times all over my body. Including face, arms, wrists, hands, stomach, legs, feet and toes. I have pictures to prove what I’m saying.I also mentioned to Karen (front desk lady) that earlier that day, the housekeeping lady told me that this hotel had bedbugs in the past when I showed her my bites (I was in the room as the cleaning lady was putting new bedsheets that day) and I was in shock when I heard that but didn't do anything about it until I actually saw them with my own eyes. The housekeeping boss (I think because she wasn’t wearing a uniform-Colombian woman based on her Spanish accent) came to my room with a service man also that day to do some maintenance to the AC and the door lock, she told me to buy the spray "OFF" and put it on me so no bugs bite me in the future since according to her, my skin is so "sensitive" because "I'm white" after I told her about my bites.Jenny another women at the front desk told me (on my third day there) I might be allergic to the detergent they use to wash their bedsheets when I showed her my bites. She suggested it might be an allergic reaction when obviously those are bedbugs bites. I have a feeling they all know this hotel is infested with bedbugs and they are trying very hard to hide it from their guests. Since not everyone that gets biten has the same reaction on their skin.Karen was upset at the fact one of the hotel employees had told me this hotel has a history of bedbugs.Thankfully, Karen was able to move me to a different hotel in the area at around 4 AM and told me not to say ANYTHING as to why I was moving or the other hotel personnel wouldn't allow me to stay there because they might think I may be bringing the bedbugs with me to the new hotel. This experience has been so bad and traumatizing I keep feeling itchiness all over my body. I find myself checking my own pillows and I don't know if I will ever trust another bed/pillows when staying at Marriott hotels. I travel a lot for work and I don't know how to deal with this traumatizing event. I also want to mention that I am a lifetime Platinum Elite Member with Marriott. I expect better treatment and a clean room. The only good thing from this hotel is the courtesy and friendliness of the concierge attendant, Priscila.Mr. Patrick Rogers if you read this
