Charleston Shoe Company is a little out of step - pun intended. If you think you want to buy shoes from these folks, please be sure to visit a store and try on. I made the mistake of ordering theeir waterproof boots online. The toe box is narrow so it was a bad fit. Style was fine, but the material had a strong chemical odor so actually plastic maybe? I was thinking more Aquatalia kind of waterproof leather. Oh well. But the fit was the main thing. So while they profess to have easy returns it was actually 1 attempted call to their "hi ya'll" answering machine a 4 email process just to understand what I needed to do. And then the big surprise! They charge a restock fee which went the way of the wind for ecommerce more than a decade ago. So I got back $155 of my $175 purchase for the pleasure of being able to leave a less than stellar review. I buy LOTS of shoes. I won't be buying more from CSC and will recommend to others that they avoid. Still looking for reasonably priced, somewhat attractive, waterproof boots for business and casual wear.

I purchased a pair of sneakers online and received a used pair that was dirty with scuff marks. I reached out to customer service with pictures and they immediately offered to exchange them...they sent me another used pair with the same issue! Is there no quality control? Isn't anyone looking at the shoes and thinking hmmm maybe we should wipe these or not sell them as a new pair of shoes.

I purchased the white linen shoe with a cork heel. After one wear the outer aspect of the linen had orange scuffs. When I returned to the store, the clerk was very curt with me. She said “Obviously it was tanning crème. I have never seen this before.” One, I do not wear tanning crème and the material against my skin was still white, I asked for an exchange and “She said I’d rather not! I will just eat this!”Rude. I am a Charlestonian and will not return to this location. I’d rather give Carolina Girls my money!

I saw them while walking through the Charleston Market and decided to try on a pair. They were soooo comfortable, I purchased them. Supposedly they are machine washable, I'm not sure I will wash them but will definitely give them a try and if they hold up and remain comfortable, will purchase another pair once I return to Charleston. So hoping they remain comfortable!

I once bought a pair of their shoes and liked them. My three dealings with this store afterwards were all terrible. First time I ordered online and weeks went by with no delivery. Finally customer service told me the company forgot to ship it out. Got it finally but very late. Tried again but after waiting weeks, I was told the shoes were unavailable but they do not refund payment automatically. You have to make a request. The third time I was in an actual store and I picked out two pairs that worked for me, paid for them and the clerk said she would ship them. What a surprise to receive notice from customer service that the shoes weren't available. What? If I want a refund I have to send my credit card info via a nonsecure network. Three strikes, you're out! Take heed, don't do business with them; deal with a reliable business!

I jumped into this store for a gift for my girlfriend. The girls working put me in the perfect place to succeed and impress her! She loves the shoes that we picked and she's super happy with the comfort.

I bought a bag here and had to bring it back because it was for tennis replete with racket pocket. I didn't buy it for that purpose so returned it next day without tags and receipt and Elizabeth was so kind about it! Great attitude. Violet

Sadly, the ladies working at Charleston Shoe Company were not friendly or helpful. I wear size 9.5 wide, and was told that all of their shoes will fit both half-sizes and full-sizes as well as narrow, medium, and wide widths. Frankly, that's not true. While the uppers may stretch, a wide foot can't work on top of a narrow-sized footbed. The store itself was unclean, disorganized, and poorly-lit. They seem to have no pride in their products.

I was in Newport Beach and walked by the store. I loved the shoes. I bought one pair and after discussing with the sales person, which was very kind and friendly, she told me that they could customized the the other shoes I wanted. I pre-paid the shoes. It has been more than 4 months now and they keep saying they have issues with production and logistics in Mexico. Last week i was told they have shipped but no tracking number. I am goin to the store to get my money back since they are not responding to my request to be refunded. Very disappointed non how they handled this situation. I didn’t expect that and most importantly, I trusted them.

BUYER BEWARE!!!! I NEVER leave reviews on anything, ever, but this is an exception. First & foremost, I love wedges. I was drawn to them by the colors and had always heard comments about this company, so I was intrigued this weekend while in Charleston. I ended up paying $160 dollars (so expensive for JUST SHOES ?♀️) and decided to walk around in them… BY THE FIRST HOUR, my feet were tight and swelling. The band fabric they use is tight!!! And the wedge heel, narrow and unstable. You can roll your ankle very easily. I also ended up developing a blister on my ankle. By hour 2, I HAD TO GET THEM OFF!! I switched to my Merrels wedges (which I love) & haven’t put them on ever since. I want to return them, but it said you can’t if they’ve been worn which is bull crap! Terrible idea in my opinion. Why wouldn’t you want to do everything to keep your customers satisfied? Anyways, I won’t be buying from them ever again. If anybody is obsessed with these, re-evaluate your thought process ?
