Visited on Thanksgiving day 2023: pretty good options for a small store, and the fact that they were open on the holiday earned the first star... Unfortunately the person behind the counter pretty much eliminated any opportunity for higher marks: it was about the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. Rude, oddly arrogant and verbally combative - - "Happy Thanksgiving" I said, as I left without buying the 6 bottles of wine I came in for... No interest in commerce with people like that. (To be fair, this could be the result of one bad-apple/employee, but it could have been an owner for all I know! Definitely a 1* experience)

This is not a wine shop, there is a terrible selection and very few options. Do not go here if you like wine.

Small liquor store that is challenged for parking. Parking is off street or across the street that's not in their lot. The store is tiny and offered little selection of bourbon. The clerk, possibly owner was nice enough. There was no hard to find allocated bottles. The shelves were organized by categories. I left empty handed. I would skip this store upon return.

The best place to stock up on wine and liquor!! The location is convenient, prices are great, and the staff is knowledgable and so friendly. They often have free tastings going on-- Be sure to stop in and ask about them! They carry a variety of wines that you won't find in the grocery store across the street, and a great selection of spirits.

Fantastic Charleston staple. Located conveniently across from Harris Teeter Grocery (plenty of parking) and next to my favorite sushi restaurant 167 Raw. East Bay is owned by a local husband and wife team who put their heart and souls into their business! They have an excellent selection of spirits, wine, and wine based canned cocktails like Tipsy Spritzers and also Volley (spirits based). Not to be missed in Charleston!

Great store and prices. Good variety. Tastings are always fun. Very personable. They have been known to hold luggage for visitors waiting for their hotel to be available so they can shop around the market. On several occasions the owners have driven customers to their hotels. They care a great deal about their customers and community. Thank you East Bay!!

Terrible experience and prices. The employee said he couldn’t return a perfectly unopened bottle due to state law, which is untrue. There is not notice that all sales are final, in the store or on the receipt. The employee was rude and unhelpful. Try any other liquor store in the area.

Just got into Charleston today and found some crown royal peach. $10/bottle less than any store I’ve found it. I purchased 5 bottles and they even held onto them for me to pick up later after walking around all day. Great selection, service and prices. 5 star.

East Bay Wine & Spirits on East Bay Street in Charleston is a great place to shop for all things wine and liquor. This store is very convenient and accessible when you are in the area. The store is well managed and organized so you can go right to what you are looking for. I have had a really good experience every time I have shopped here.
