Called to set up a meeting to do a wire transfer but was told I didn’t need to and was also told incorrect information about the cutoff time for wire transfers. I was told to come back anytime the following day, so I came back at a normal hour and no one was available to help me. Disappointed in the communication and customer service.

No good. Tried to refuse a public notary on " not an account holder basis" law says different thing.

First Citizens Bank on Meeting Street in Charleston is a bank that is a reliable for banking transactions both big and small. If there is ever a problem or an inconsistency they have been able to straighten it out and resolve it. The staff here is knowledgeable and caring and takes the time to make sure that you have all the help you need. This is a well managed bank branch.

Horrible communication from anyone at First Citizens. They do not get anything done that they promise. They lie. They do not respond to emails. They do not return calls. Worst customer service I've ever experienced from a bank. The branch manager - Scott Wethington - is not responsive, does not do what he says he's going to, and is not knowledgeable.

Beware of using this location, and possibly this bank in general, for a mortgage loan. I am selling an investment property in North Charleston and our buyers were approved by FHA and in final underwriting in time for scheduled closing. Then the loan officer at this bank kept ignoring them and then finally coming back with last minute additional doc requirements. After all the final docs were provided and they were ignored again for 2 more weeks, missing a second scheduled closing, the loan officer told them and both parties realtors that "you should just find another lender and that's fine with us". The buyer finally had to dump this place and get it done at a local mortgage broker instead. Extremely arrogant attitude and a huge waste of everyone's time and money.

Came here because I was having problems with my card's chip. Explained that I needed new card shipped to a specific address in Charleston, since I will be here for school. Not in Columbia, where the address associated with the account is. So the teller assured me that it seems to be fine and everything, but low and behold a week goes by and my new card showed up at the old address in Columbia. So then my mother had to pay to send it to me from there with two day shipping. Just is really annoying to not only be without my debit card for more than a week, but to have walked to this bank for no reason. I could have ordered a replacement card to the Columbia address online myself, I went in to get it handled and it just wasn't to my satisfaction.

Having similar issues as a small business. Not very small biz friendly. Way to put the squeeze on Bubba Gump

Recently, the operations manager complains and tries to deny me change. I only need $200-$400 a day in ones. It was stipulated that change was needed daily for our buisness. It's strange how they think it's okay to go back on their word and put a buisness customer in a buisness-stopping situation.

And I thought I was the only one they made feel like they didn't want to do business with. I made up my mind never to go there again unless I absolutely have to. I actually went there on work business and they treated me like something the cat dragged in as well as made me wait over a half hour for them to supposedly "get approval" to accept service of suit papers. Jerks!
