Do not waste your time. This was the worst experience of our lives. We were given an appointment by our insurance company to get an estimate here. When my husband went to the appointment, they told him we didn't have an appointment. The receptionist rescheduled the appointment for 2 weeks later. We got an estimate 2 weeks later for $4500. My husband kept calling them because they were not calling us with updates. They kept telling him they were waiting for parts. 2 weeks later, we were contacted by our insurance company saying that our truck is a total loss. Now the damages were $12000. After this ordeal, they wouldn't release our vehicle for another 2 weeks. They kept lying to us about not getting paid by our insurance company. The other excuse made when this excuse ran out was that they never give customers their cars back that were deemed total loss. They told me the car would be ready to pick up one day (yesterday). I went that day and it wasn't ready. They said come back in the morning but when my husband called it still wasn't ready. They called me telling me that my husband was rude but yet they kept lying to us. They released the car to us that day (today). They were supposed to make sure all parts were put back on the vehicle. As we were driving down the road, the truck's front wheel locked up because they took the two bolts from the caliber brackets. Wow! Could have been a terrible outcome. Thank God my husband knows how to fix cars himself. Shame on you Gerber Collision.

I originally thought this was going to be a 5 start experience. The place was clean, well organized, and staff seemed very friendly.The person running the front desk was very eager to get my repair scheduled. Although my schedule was flexible, she was pushing hard to get it on their books ASAP. She certainly is good at sales.The job was 20 hours of repair. They had the car for over 120 hours or 15 working days. Not sure what was being done with the car during the other 100 hours.No proactive updates or estimate to completion could be given during that time. In fact they never reached out to me, I always had to call.Was told on Thursday, car will be ready on Friday. Received a text to that affect. Then Friday - no car, no response. Monday, again, I had to call them. The front desk sales woman, she had a litany of reasons why I was given incorrect information. She assured me when "I get the final papers, I will call you."Another week goes by, another text my car is ready. So I waited for the call, no call. So I called, the front desk woman was busy but will call me back, because my car "should" be ready. But I didn't receive the call, so I waited. Another weekend with no car.Monday morning - I call (again). She said the car is ready. I go to pick up my car. I asked her why she didn't call me to let me know. She "had the paper".I didn't yell, didn't scream...paid my bill, told her I was disappointed. She not once thanked me for the business.The work done was fine. Again, all signs point to this being a 5 star place, but their customer service - once they start working on your car - is 1 star at best.

My 2007 Honda Civic SI was repaired in three weeks, whereas other shops had estimated four months would be required. Your employee- Kayla - was one of the best if not THE best customer service reps with whom I’ve ever interacted. And in my 76 years, I’ve interacted with a lot of customer service people.Services: Painting

ATROCIOUS customer service. Avoid at all costs! How does a business stay open when a customer shows up for a scheduled appointment and is told that one estimator is out to lunch and the other is with the GM on an errand? Was told that I had 3 customers ahead of me and could wait but did not know how long it would be. Based on my experience with the receptionist, this place obviously does not need my business or yours.

Great customer service! Went in for questions regarding my bumper the two gals up front are very nice and welcoming and always willing to help. Zach & Trevor are both great estimators and are willing to take the time to explain everything! From what I understand Zach is training Trevor! Trevor you are under good hands of the trade! Keep up the great work!

BEYOND EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!!!What had been a complete nightmare ordeal, not having my car for 2 months to the day, was arguably easier to handle knowing it was in Joe and Trevor's care at Gerber. There was CONSTANT communication about my car from day 1. From repair costs, approvals, to alerting me about paint days and longer than expected tire wait times, it WAS INCREDIBLE how forthcoming with the process they were. They communicated with my insurance company at all levels of the claims process. Not only that but I've had to call and ask questions and Joe has answered them with patience and a genuine desire to educate. Thanks Gerber, if I have to have body work again I will be back! Wonderful Company Great People! Way to be like James Island and put the Community first!

If you are able to avoid this shop it will save you major headaches.From the beginning of my experience with Gerber Collision and Glass I never felt welcomed and dealt with rude remarks throughout the entire process.My vehicle had a special situation due to me taking it to a mechanic shop 1st who fixed all mechanical damage, but then I was left with cosmetic work. I now understand that repair shops don’t like to take on cars that have been worked on elsewhere but Joseph at Gerber really dropped the ball more than once. Joseph agreed to take on my car after speaking with him directly. Then he totally forgot he agreed to take on my car and day of me dropping it off he had a lot of confusion. I had to prove he agreed through my email record. Then he proceeded to take my car from June 26th until I took it back on July 11th. The entire time my car was with them they never touched it. They even have automatic texts that were telling me the car was being worked on and nearing completion. I asked for an explanation on why my car was not ready and they lied about my insurance. Zach said USAA failed to contact them back a week prior. According to insurance they were not contacted until July 10th at 4pm. They were trying to get a new estimate approved that had parts that were previously fixed at the mechanic shop. Aka insurance fraud.Completely unreliable and extremely unprofessional.

Came in to get an estimate and even though they were not taking self pay customers they still wrote an estimate for me and they were so kind to direct me to another body shop that may be able to assist. The ladies at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful as well as the guys assisting in writing my estimate (Zach & Trevor)Thank you Gerber Folly Rd for all your help, I will definitely be recommending you all for anyone that needs body repairs .

This shop is awful to work with and clearly has been having people affiliated with the staff pumping reviews the last few days to hide the bad ones. Do not bring your vehicle year. Awful customer service and they will actually just lie to you when confronted.

Took almost 2 weeks to get an estimate I was told would take 30-45 minutes. Called multiple times and was told multiple times that it would be sent over by end of business day. Wasn't until I contacted Padilla directly that I finally got it. Then my quote had a bunch of stuff that I just simply didn't need.

I was in an accident that was not my fault. I had a piece that was in danger of causing more damage. I went straight to Gerber and asked for some help so I would be able to drive my car. Joe was amazing! He came out and addressed my issues and helped me feel better about driving my car! He took the piece off and and I am currently waiting to hear from insurance. I highly recommend Joe and Gerber! I have been to multiple places on James Island and this is by far the best!

Joe is absolutely amazing! I was in an accident and prior to getting it in to get worked on, he was nice enough to take a piece of that would've caused more damage if caught in the wind! He is very personable and explains everything to you! I highly recommend using Gerber! I have been to a few other places on James Island, and this is by far the best place! Thank you Joe!!!
