Gullah Gourmet is a wonderful shop on James Island, a must stop in Charleston. The business has been around for over 25 years, grown from the ground up by its owner, a lifelong resident. Everything is uniquely displayed and created in house. The food is absolutely to die for and delicious, including the she crab soup. It is a delightful place to shop for delightful gifts and wonderful food, with many complimented pieces for the home. The fragile items are always packed and shipped carefully and quickly. The owner is helpful and dedicated. This lovely establishment pays homage and celebrates the Gullah community. Support this wonderful place; you won’t be sorry.
I love the shrimp and grits! We make these all the time at home! Better than many restaurants!

My mom and I have been purchasing Gullah Gourmet mixes for the past 25 years. We used to love their booth at Christmas Made in the South. Now that our town no longer hosts the craft show, it has gotten harder to find the mixes, but any visit to Charleston means we stock up!

We stopped in today to the new Gullah Gourmet shop on James Island. What a delightful shop and owner. The owner is a lifelong resident of Charleston and has grown this business from the ground up. Everything is uniquely displayed and created in house. This is a must shop stop! Kudos for her entrepreneurship!
