The first vehicle that I was given was a disaster! The vehicle was dirty inside and out. I was told that was all they had in a full size SUV that they could rent for an insurance claim. I returned it the next day and it was replaced with an acceptable vehicle. Still disappointed in Hertz. I’ve rented a lot of vehicles over the years and the first one that I had was the worst that I ever had!!!

Where do y'all get off closing early knowing full well there was at least one reserved vehicle needing to be picked up?! There are open and close times for a reason! Also, how do you not have a working phone line? Guess you don't even consider that people with children end up needing your services.

We tried to rent a car there through the insurance and they simply could not verify my husband’s driver license. They said the machine could not recognize his identity, probably because the card is reflective. What??? So he has a driver licence and because of the way it was made by the state he was not allowed to rent a car! That’s absurd. Make sure your DL is not reflective before you go there, otherwise they will insinuate that you are not you.

Got a rental from the North Charleston location because of a accident had the vehicle for 10 days just returned the vehicle this morning 10/26/2023 and was accused of smoking in the vehicle I drove the vehicle 4 times in 10 days and I don't even smoke where do these people get off accusing customers of these things. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

I've read all the reviews and I'm happy to say that wasn't my experience. I needed a rental immediately due to my car getting flood by a hurricane while I was on a cruise in the Bahamas. I had to drive from SC to FL. I think it was Ana who helped me and she was amazing.

BEWARE! I’ve never had a problem using Hertz until this location was involved. I rented the car for 24 hours. Dropped it off here in time with a full tank of gas and just got charged an extra 5 days!! My credit card was just charged an extra $1,000. Now I’ve been on the phone for a total of 2 hours with customer service trying to get this fixed. This location also doesn’t have a phone that is in service so you can’t contact them directly to fix the issue. Such a scam!!

Dealt with an associate named Patty who refused to process a rental car transaction for me because of the Thrifty manager telling her not to. The Hertz/Thrifty rental car counters are staffed with the rudest and unprofessional associates I have ever had experience. I will never rent from these companies again. I found a good alternative that picks up from and drops off to the airport.

Picked up a car that wreaked of smoke. I have asthma and this was a big issue. Called the store multiple times throughout the next three days, no one picked up. Also the car had something dragging from the undercarriage. We took a pictures of it. Brought the car back to the rudest employee who told us it didn’t smell. It 100% did. Wouldn’t help us and would not call her manager. Told us to call. Refused to help, gave us a fake number when we called it. After we left, saw she charged us more after the fact. We did not authorize this charge. Will never use this Hertz again. We have never had a negative experience like this at any other Hertz. Now the number is saying disconnected when we try to call the store again. We have tried calling corporate but cannot get a live person.

I have rented from Hertz for over 15 years and this is by far the worst branch I have ever encountered. First they did not have a car for me even though I had a reservation and the front desk acted as though it was my fault. She then gave me a dirty car.As I was driving I noticed a smoke smell and called the branch several times and no one picked up. I called corporate and they said there was nothing they could do as this branch is independently operated (so be careful renting here.When I returned the car I mentioned the issue. The same front desk person was condescending towards me and not helpful at all. She told me to call the manager cause she didn’t want to. She yelled at me and was very unprofessional. I called the “manager” and it turned out to be a man (perhaps her husband or boyfriend) who yelled at me. Finally I had an unauthorized charge on my credit card for this rental! I am in the process of filing a police report and a dispute with my credit card company.I can not express my concern enough about how awful this branch is. Stay away at all cost as I actually am switching to Enterprise as a result of this.

Got here at 5:25pm after a 22 minute drive to find out its closed, it says that closes at 6pm so I don't understand why it's closed. Very disappointed, waste of time.

Terrible service. At airport there is no indication that you can't get the car at the lot. So we walked to lot, it was deserted with no one at the Hertz kiosk. The board had an error message and no one was there to help. Returned to desk and then told there were no cars ready. Not like we didn't make this reservation months in advance. Awful service and unapologetic.

Terrence is the absolute best. Got us in a car in an emergency when no one else could. Can't recommend him & this location enough!
