Just took a class and loved it. Super clean, upbeat and friendly. Our instructor Lindsay was fantastic and made me feel strong, powerful and balanced.

I went to a free intro class with a friend of mine who bought the monthly membership.I'm a professional dancer, trained as former ballet dancer. However, I have only done pilates once in my life, but plenty of barre. The young lady who taught us, was giving for granted that we knew any of the exercises. She was going through her own series of exercises without demonstrating or explaining posture and form, except mentioning the "tuck" posture, which meant rotating the pelvis under, to obtain the correct form for some of the exercises.Just as well I'm a performer and know how to use my body. Most people would have really struggled to follow and that sort of exercise can cause injuries if not executed correctly. There was no warm up. You shouldn't do planks and press ups without properly warming up the spine and the rest of your body. It was too brutal. The music choice. Far too loud, club music.. for pilates and barre?!?She tried a few times to correct my posture, pushing to rotate my pelvis, clearly not understanding that not every spine is naturally straight, curves free, and there's only so much you can "tuck".Just too young and inexperienced to make corrections, in my opinion.I was expecting some technical pilates/barre exercises but this felt like one of those Instagrammable, trendy fitness classes for people who don't take training seriously but they tick their workout box.I'm not denying that if you know what you're doing, you can feel the work, but the whole approach goes against the barre way of exercising.

My first introduction to Pure Barre was at this location and I simply cannot recommend it enough. I felt a difference after the first class (and every class after) and I’ve come to LOVE my Pure Barre community. Each person I’ve met here, whether as an instructor or as a fellow member, has been so sweet and welcoming. What started as trying out the free class, to then getting the 8 class pass, soon became unlimited membership because it’s just so worth it.

Love this location!! I’ve been to many Pure Barre locations and this one is absolutely the best!! The team is so welcoming whether you’re just visiting for the weekend or a local. Kate Conway is a great manager who celebrates everyone’s wins - big or small! And of course you always get a good workout no matter who the instructor is.

Kate the instructor and manager is an all time trainer. I have been to many fitness classes and studios and felt truly motivated and educated by Kate. She is an amazing instructor and motivator. Recommend!!

Pure Barre CHS is so fun and conveniently located in a beautiful section of downtown. Each class is different and I love the instructors!

Overpriced and poor-quality service. The Manager Kate Conway vapes in the studio before she teaches class. The studio itself is always messy. They only care about their Instagram page and how they look online rather than the actual impact they have on the community. Everything they do is scripted by corporate. A couple of the teachers are hungover when they teach class. They discourage diversity and do not understand what Charleston Hospitality means. They owner Sarah Mcnair chooses to raise their prices based on their area code and they charge as much as they can with a smile. There are so many other cheaper and heathier options to find for a good workout in Charleston. They don't even deserve one star.

To the employee that worked later in the day on october 16th in between 3-4 and was going into her shift I believe. I pulled you aside in the parking lot to ask for directions to the pier after i drove around for 2 hours crying and very anxious because my phone broke and i had no source of communication with my friends. Thank you so much for your kindness and help finding my people. If you couldn’t tell i wasn’t from the area lol. Whoever owns this location give her lots of praise as she represent your company extremely well and goes above and beyond helping others. without her i probably would never have found my friends and would most likely still be crying. To whoever you are, THANK YOU!

Love love love this studio!! The instructors are awesome, friendly, and take the time to make sure you have the correct form. I’ve been going for 3 years and the results are amazing. I’m so much stronger than I was before pure barre.

I love Pure Barre Charleston, both downtown and West Ashley! Between the two studios, I usually manage to go to my Classics classes every day. My whole body has changed. I am in the best shape I have ever been in. Pure Barre changed me from a soft-bodied sedentary 60-year old to an active, chiseled 61-year old!! I recommend it for anyone and everyone!!
