Had a rare great experience at the bank all thanks to Sabrina and her bubbly and positive attitude!

I don't know the lady name that helped me since she wasn't wearing a name tag or anything but I felt she was extremely rude and impatient with me when I was trying to figure out my debit card situation. I had to come back twice to let her know my card was saying "not authorized" when I try to purchase something and all she could say was " well your card is activated I don't know what to tell you". I almost walked out but I held my ground but they should really work on their communication skills

I had the worst experience at this location. I went in to cash my pension check which is from the state of California. The teller looked at it had another teller look at it then take it to the manager. After awhile I asked if there was a problem. I explained that I always cash it at the John's Island location. She said rather rudely "you don't have direct deposit ?" She wanted to know who cashed it at the other bank I gave her the name and she didn't call her. I had enough in my account to cover the check so this shouldn't have been an issue. Just an old biddy strutting her stuff. So I deposited the check.

The manager Rory Parsley is very rude, loud and unprofessional. She asked if she could help me and then started talking about my account in front of other customers. And after I confronted her about her rudeness in how she was talking to me she got upset and played the victim. Just because she I'm African American I guess she thought it was ok to do so. Then like a child instead of her help me she kept egging the situation on and started threatening to close my account and call the police because now she's the victim in distress. Another Karen if you ask me. I am escalating this matter to the BBB and I am closing my account at this discriminatory and disrespectful Bank!! And I have contacted her corporate office and filed a complaint!! Everyone is not passive!!

We went to open a checking account here at South State Bank. Monica was the young woman who helped us. She was very friendly and very helpful. If anyone wants to start a checking account, savings account or any other things banks do, please ask for Monica. She really is the best.

Why is this bank so slow?!?! Every time I wait in line at the ATM, it's always a half an hour wait.....in a 2 lane drive through! I understand if you get busy or deal with fools who don't realize they're at a bank but every.single.time. I have no clue what is it. The last 3 times I have had to leave that bank and go to the one on Sav. Highway which literally get me through in 5 minutes. Very frustrating to say the least

Long line at Drive through. Lobby is closed, so it seems like all windows would have individual associates, instead of 1 working all 3 lines.

South State Bank on Sam Rittenburg Boulevard in West Ashley is a really well managed and operated bank that provides excellent customer service in just about every aspect of banking that you do here. The staff here is very professional and knowledgeable and takes care of their customers. I have had a really good experience here and they are well worth a visit for quality banking.

Great service! I needed my account numbers and routing numbers and the teller even offered to laminate it for me. Friendly and willing to explain things clearly.

Wish I could give 0 the branch manager should be removed from this location and never allowed to work in customer service again! She doesn't know how to talk to people the correct way old bitty talks down to you as if she's better than the world and you are a small ant that knows absolutely nothing! Sucks this is the only south state open on saturdays as well because of the fact that I have to go here otherwise I would never return to this location ever again! I am 26 years old yet she was very condescending and treated me like an infant and talked down to me like I was a piece of trash! And I talked to another lady from the down town location supposed to be of higher status than her but guess what they are friends so even though she's a b****** she can't get fired or removed to a lower position where she deserves to be as the horrible person she is! I don't understand how she has a job period I wouldn't let her work for me that's all I know and it's funny every review is about her but they still won't remove her!😂 SOUTH STATE FIND A BETTER MORE WORTHY PERSON TO BE IN CHARGE!!! This bitty doesn't deserve it.

So, I drive for Uber and was waiting outside between this branch and the Wells Fargo bank next door. I wasn't sure where my passenger was so I had my flashers and waited to the side. A women walks up to my car with an attitude and expressed that I was blocking their parking spaces. I said that I didn't realize anyone was attempting to park. She said, "I did and had to park over there (pointing)." She walked away stomping. I put my window down on the other side of the car and said, "You have a good day too." After thinking about it, I remembered that I bank here and her attitude was not acceptable. I parked and went inside where I realized after describing her to one of the tellers that she is the branch manager. I took her business card that was offered to me and called her. I left her a voicemail message expressing that I am an account holder, she was rude and that I would let customer service know about our conversation. While I was on the phone with customer service, she called me with the same rotten attitude to tell me that she was providing me the courtesy of letting Uber know that I blocked the parking spaces. (REALLY?) I let the CSR for South state bank know that it was her calling when I put her on hold. There's no question in my mind why their rating online is so low. It starts at the head. I will NEVER stop at that branch in the future.
