Was visiting a friend here and we decided to go swimming. Well, they called the police on us. No one came and talked to us ahead of time. It was within the hours. We was not being loud or anything. Just chilling in the spa at the time. Policeman tried to speak with them first but the excuse was "maybe they wasn't there and saw on the camera. They just didn't want anyone there at this time." Well lies because we saw them they could have easily talked to us first. And I'd like to add, the person that lives there had no notice of no one supposed to be there or anything.

Honestly if you don’t have to live here I wouldn’t. They just like to add in fees everywhere. Make sure you read your agreement before signing. The houses were mid, the gate never worked. Only plus to this place was they took out our trash but beware you pay for that too automatically.

I lived in the collective for 3 years and just recently moved out so I figured I'd give a run down. I lived in a furnished 3 bedroom unit with a garage. I really enjoyed the neighborhood shuttle because it was my main transportation to campus but at times it could be running late or even be broken down all together so I wouldn't rely too heavily on it. Didn't have this problem often but it's worth noting. We never had any issues with our dishwasher or laundry dryer/washer which was amazing. Our fridge did leak water once but maintenance quickly handled it. Maintenance was so great. They always handled issues quickly, usually the same day. Sometimes it'd take a couple days but it was nothing too urgent that couldn't wait. One of the summers, we had a large water leak in our ceiling that caused many problems. Our wooden kitchen floors were destroyed and my roommate and I's bedrooms had some pretty bad water damage on the walls and carpet (pictures attached). I even had black mold growing in my closet because of this. When management replaced our floors, they claimed it was a "courtesy" as if it was our fault. They had a specialist come and clean the black mold but it was still very concerning. The worst part about my unit was the downstairs temperature. Because we had a garage, the downstairs would be freezing during the winter. It was practically unlivable. We couldn't spend any time in our living room. If you plan on getting a unit with a garage then be ready to bundle up come winter time. We had a furnished unit and the furniture was subpar. Our couch was pretty uncomfortable but my bed frame, desk, and dresser were alright. Although it's a gated community, the gates were almost always open, even at night. This led to some people's cars being broken into. The pool and clubhouse are really nice and well kept but there would be times when the pool would be super crowded because anybody could enter the neighborhood due to the gates being open. During the warmer months, there are lots of cockroaches. Not sure what anybody could've done about this but it was still annoying. Overall I don't think management really cared about our issues but rather just fixed them to shut us up or would come up with excuses. I wouldn't really recommend anyone living here but I'm sure there are worse places. Definitely way the pros and cons before choosing the collective.

The collective is not the worst apartment complex butthey are no where near the luxury living they promote. The houses have old appliances and often experienceissues. Our washer smells like gas every time we use it and we've been told there is nothing they can do. When we originally got here our dryer vent was disconnected from the wall and covered in duct tape. In addition we had a horrible cockroach problem. We kept the house clean, no food was left out, no trash left out yet every day we would have to squish a cockroach. We reached out to management several times and they said they would spray outside but when it didn't make a difference I asked if they could do anything else management responded no we would have to call someone ourselves. So we now pay for monthly spraying from pest control. We asked if the collective would cover the cost and we were told that they would not because they have theirown pest control but we were never told of this and Icalled at least 5 times about it. The workers andmanagement do not communicate and the workers on the phone just didn't know all the information. I have heard that other houses also have similar problems with cockroaches. You also have to pay for valet trash to take your trash every night, but they often skip over houses and you might not have someone get your trash for a few days. So yes the houses are big and close to campus, but it's not luxury living and you might have to be prepared to deal with large cockroaches in your room on the daily.

Love it here! Best place to live! Love the two bedroom the best! Great amenities, a shuttle to campus, and great people! I love it here. The staff is helpful, never a problem with parking, and close enough to campus.

The clubhouse is nice but has this really weird smell like it reeks of body odor. The gym needs to be cleaned because there’s dust and debris everywhere. Cardio room smells like body odor. Hot tub has dead skin at the bottom and needs to be probably drained and cleaned. Overall the houses are nice but the management needs to maintain their clubhouse better for what we’re paying each month for rent + utilities

If you are looking for peak luxury then this is not complex for you, but if you are looking for a great value, then this is perfect. For the price of rent ($800 and time of posting), you get a lot of room and plenty of great amenities. The maintenance has also been great so far. However, the age of the complex shows in the age of the appliances (again still a good deal for what you pay for), and in small problems that every apartment gets at some point. All-in-all, I think its a great value, but if you'd rather live in luxury no matter the cost, then you should look elsewhere.

This place will randomly charge you hidden fees. I moved in for 2 months during summer and get hit with a "cleaning and restoration fee" that gets charged to everyone regardless of how your home looks. Not to mention they hide in their contracts the fact that they can raise rent prices whenever they want to. I do not recommend this place.

My roommates and I love the neighborhood feel of the Collective and it’s location is perfect. The pool is a great spot to hang out but we’re super excited for the club house to open too.

I do not recommend living here. It is extremely expensive for a low quality apartment. My countertops were tile glued to plywood. I had paint stained concrete floors. Couches with cigarette burns. A dishwasher that had to be ran 2-3 times to clean 1 load of dishes. And countless amenities that were either subpar or unable to be used- yet still being charged. Some of the student staff omit themselves from the rules and regulations (dog ownership, parking, trash), yet charge everyone else for the same exact infractions. The staff told us and still advertises a game day shuttle; I have been living here for 2 years and have only been on a “game day shuttle” from this complex 3 times. The maintenance team works hard and are pretty quick about fixing what you need, but you will constantly need fixes because all the appliances are cheap and all the construction work lousy. The only good thing I have to say is that you can’t hear either neighbor on the side- however, you can here every sentence word for word that is occurring outside your townhouse. Don’t try to move in early and pay the extra fee. My roommate and I paid a $250 move in fee to find crumbs on the counters, socks crammed under the washing machine, and dust layered in the bathroom. I highly recommend saving your money and living somewhere else.

I really enjoy living at The Collective at Clemson. The apartments are very spacious and accommodating for all of my needs. The amenities provided help to make my everyday tasks more enjoyable. The maintenance staff is always extremely helpful, and quick to respond to any needs I have. The office staff is ready to help with any question or problem I have as much as they can. It's a great place to live!

My first year at The Collective has been awesome! I really enjoy the individual spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. In addition, the staff is really helpful when I have any questions or problems. Lately, they have been hosting a lot of fun events like Bingo and free breakfast for their residents which is really nice and considerate! I can't wait to live here again next year.

I have lived here for 2 years and loved it! It's a great place for college students and offers a lot more space and amenities than other places around. One of my favorite aspects is the shuttle that takes us to class, it makes life a lot easier. The club house is really nice and offers a lot of great amenities and the houses are very spacious and nice! I love it here!

This is my second year living at The Collective/Aspen Heights and it's easily one of the best places to live for the price. The houses are incredibly spacious with a huge downstairs living room, kitchen, rooms, and closets. My only drawbacks are that utilities can get pretty high during the colder months and the gym is getting outdated (however, the clubhouse is getting renovated soon). The transfer to new management has been going smoothly, I would like to see more events similar to when Aspen Heights owned the property. If my roommates didn't want to try something new next year I'd definitely spend my final year at the Collective again.
