Booked a 10:30am appointment for an oil change and it took them almost 2 hours to be finished. My quoted time was 45mins to an hour. They tell me that I needed new air filters and the total of everything would've almost $200. I told them I didn't want to change them and that I could do it myself. I had a coupon for the oil change service and apparently it had already been "applied" and my total was $77 but I let them know that I always come here for the SAME service and always pay around $60. The guy proceeded to say "I'll see what I can do" and within a few minutes my total went from $77 to $66.

I went to this Pep Boys location in Clover yesterday and had a horrible experience I feel I should share with the public. I arrived early for my scheduled appointment and explained the issue with my car running weak and heavy vibrations in idle. My engine light was on and I told him I need it off...Kyle said they will run a diagnostic check for $99.00 and after they ran it said as I and the shop expected a Intake sensor. So I agreed to that and a simple tune up and fuel cleaning and about an hour later Kyle came back and said he was sorry he forgot to tell me I needed a needed an ignition coil or my engine light will have to stay on. (So it was something else that the engine light was detecting and I'm already quoted $520.00 or so agreed to the tuneup, fuel cleaner, and sensor and I at that time remembered I probably should ask about oil change and I found a 25% coupon. I went over with Kyle the type of oil I needed and he gave me my final quote of 963.00 dollars and some change. (After added oil change and ignition coil...So I'm there 4 1/2 hours and he came out and said my car was ready. The bill was over a thousand dollars and I wondered why it went up but I just paid it and went to my car looking over the receipt and noticed it didn't mention an oil change so I went back into the 'Pep Boys' store and asked Kyle about the oil change. He looked at me and said, "We didn't decide on the oil change so I didn't do it". ..I just looked at him and started to remind him of our conversation and he stopped me and apologized and said I'm sorry we will have it done in 20 minutes I swear. I was there for two more hours until finally I was able to drive away but not after Kyle charged me again for the oil change after he had already quoted me earlier with oil change including. So he charged me separately and even said he couldn't give me the coupon price because 'it' (whatever that means) wouldn't 'let him do it'. So my final bill got upped again. He kept saying,"the next time I'll hook you up, I promise" After being there 6 and a half hours I was just ready to get out of there. Went to my car looked up in the corner to see my renewed oil sticker and guess what it was not there. I don't know. I feel I got robbed today. $1022.00 and terrible service.and still not sure I got that oil change. But I sure got a maxed out Credit Card. Thanks a lot 'Pep Boys' (Makes me wonder if they did all the other things???)

I have gone to Pep Boys several times since they opened in Lake Wylie/Clover. EVERY TIME I have received outstanding service! The Assistant Manager Kyle always takes the time to explain what needs to be done and offers cost saving solutions. Thank you Pep Boyd. We will be back!!

I'm pretty skeptical of chains in general, but this Pep Boys is awesome. Had to have tires rotated and balanced and then happened to run over a nail the next day and had a flat. These guys were great, super nice, quick and great price. Seem like genuine car dudes who aren't trying to give you the runaround

My wife and I moved here late last year. You really never know what you are going to get in terms of car care. The manager, Darryl, is very knowledgeable and the service has been great. Thanks to Darryl and his team for taking care of us.

I had an appointment and when I arrived the man at the counter said he tried to call me He then tried my phone number right there and it worked yet I had no record of him calling me the day before as he said. He then proceeded to talk about rescheduling because he was short staffed which I did not want to do because it was my only day off that week. Then he wanted to look at my car. He said, since it was less than a year, I should go to where the work was done before because of a warranty (makes sense). I asked him if he would do it at all. He said he will only do it for more than I wanted, tripling the price. While the one suggestion made sense, I got the impression he did not want to do the work at all. If can't or won't do the work just say so. This is not the only bad experience I've had at Pep Boys. It had been a long time ago and a different location so I thought to give them a chance. Nope. Not anymore.

Terrible service. I made an appointment for an oil change about a week in advance. Received email and text confirmation. The day before the appointment they called and asked for a reschedule due to 2 mechanics out sick, I did not have a problem with this. The new day of the appointment, after I had received an email confirmation, I show up to the appointment to have them tell me they cannot take my car for 2-3 hours. I was told this was due to their system not sending confirmations, appointments getting scheduled on top of other appointments, and there were 2 people in front of me and only 1 mechanic. That to me was very poor customer service and I have other choices of places to go, which I will do in the further.

These guys got me worked in and they were slammed to start with!! Jimmy is awesome and very informative. This is end of the week before Labor Day weekend and they were dealing with very impatient people!! You guys rock!!! Keep up the good work!!!!! I’ll be back soon!!

Darryl slammed out a 5 hr job for me as a walk-in same day customer. Excellent service. I learned a lot about maintenancing my vehicle. Awesome staff.

Terrible service! I made an appointment for an oil change a week in advance. They called 2 days ahead and rescheduled since they had 2 mechanics out sick. Ok, I get it, but when I show up for the rescheduled appointment (and had a confirmation email of date and time) and they tell me they can't do the service for 2-3 hours.....not acceptable. I will never go there again.

If I could give this place NO STARS I would!!!We took my son's truck into this location for a brake repair.We were told they could fabricate it week 1. By John who I came to learn was the regional manager (who also is never there when he says he will be, also never returns calls when he says he will)Long story short....after a dozen excuses "the part is on INFINITE back order" we can't fabricate it now, and on and on.NINE weeks later after all the excuses from John & later Darryl we had it TOWED to our mechanic, POTTER who had it fixed in THREE DAYS!!!!I will NEVER use Pep Boys again, and will tell anyone who listens not to as well.A few of the techs , on my weekly visit to find out what was going on told me THEY had asked what was going on with the truck and John said to them "this is my project!"Sad state when a man that exudes this kind of CUSTOMER SERVICE is who this company chose to be their "Regional manager!"This is a SMALL area and word travels quickly, do better PEP BOYS!!!

Darryl was great I had an appointment this weekend at 8am and he was quick to check me in and got everything I needed done. Would highly recommend to go to this pep boys and get help from Darryl if possible.

We made an appt for 8am, Darryl was the first to greet us. He was so nice and welcoming, we got the tires we needed and an oil change and out the door to get us back on the road during our trip up north! Couldn’t be happier with the service and friendly/professionalism from the staff; especially Darryl!

These guys are awesome!With Daryl leading the pack, these guys are friendly, efficient, and absolutely believe in customer satisfaction. They try to help you find the best deal and they won't sell you something that you don't need. In todays world of everyone trying to get something from you, it is really nice to go someplace and trust that you will be treated fairly without double talk. They will show you what's going on with your car, and they will explain it to you if you don't have a great deal of knowledge about cars. It can be hard to get them on the phone, but that's because they are busy taking care of cars and customers. I am happy to say, I have found the mechanics that I fully trust for my car!

It was very affordable and very fast. Love them and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Update, been there over ten times with four different vehicles and I love them. Always understanding and affordable and always fast. The most friendly and helpful people.
